Scary LOOKING champions

#We don't have is even a single character with scary VISUALS.

That isn't to say that every character who's scary in the lore needs to look scary. Jhin is a human, so of course it's fine that he looks human. Evelynn lures her victims with sex appeal, so of course she looks sexy. That's not what I'm talking about.

We're lacking a character for which the visuals alone give a sense of fear, without the need for the voice or knowledge of their background. Urgot used to be scary before his VU, but now he looks more cool than scary. Cho'gath could be scary if his model and animations weren't so stilted.

As it stands, there are no champions who actually look scary.

I want to stress that I'm referring to the kind of scary that could scare you with its presence without the need to simply be large and imposing. A huge guy with an axe and an unpleasant look on his face is scary by default, but only because of the harm you know he can do with that axe due to his size. There are plenty of large, imposing champions in the game that don't give off a sense of fear. I'm also not referring to the idea behind visuals, but the actual visuals involved. Sure, the idea of being ground to mincemeat is terrifying. But the visual of your model simply being pulled to Urgot's and disappearing is not. Likewise, I'm not referring to the fear involved in being helpless during the game. When Urgot's ult suppresses you, you're afraid because you know you're going to die and can't do anything about it. Not because you're given a gory visual that makes you feel the pain.

I can think of over a dozen small changes that could be made to champions to change them from cool or goofy to truly horrifying.

I don't think Riot can make champions and their abilities overly scary/graphic, as it may affect the rating of the game. Hell, I personally think some of the stuff in the game already is pushing it a bit. Urgot pulls you into a fucking meat grinder FFS. That is brutal.

And, back to Jhin's alternate color story that I mentioned in the now deleted thread, I believe the reason why they scrapped it was because it was so graphic that it would've risked changing the rating of the entire game.

So, be it in lore or in game, the representation of a scary champion needs to be watered down a bit to prevent the rating of the game being changed.

Hard to make a champion scary in Riot's art style of choice

Rek'Sai and Sion are their best attempts, but not all that intimidating anyway.

Dude, his ultimate is scary as hell if we are talking about in game animations.

If we are talking about in game models, you wont have a "scary looking" champion in game because of the visual style of the game...

VelKoz is supposed to look like this: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C9C60JBwB34/W3rWkZDfJ3I/AAAAAAABGEY/CCrWgOVgXT0qjPj_uFrusQdJS-TJ6X6ZwCLcBGAs/s1920/image.jpg

But you cant have something like that in game because of the visuals of the game are more "cartoony"

This is an example... Gengar in the games and anime does not look scary at all... https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/es.pokemon/images/f/f8/Gengar.png/revision/latest?cb=20080908162854

But a different art style can change that: http://www.smosh.com/wp-content/uploads/ftpuploads/bloguploads/1013/gengar_by_warnerator.jpg

Thresh is basically a sadistic metallic skeleton on fire... That must be terrifying if it were real. https://images2.alphacoders.com/590/590234.png
