An easy way to make champions with numerous skins more valuable.

#The Problem

Riot continues to forget that only the diehard of diehards buy multiple skins. I, for example, have almost every Vi skin. However every time I play Vi I end up shuffling between my skins, even though I have my main favorites (Demon and Kingdoms). This makes it so that I don't feel as encouraged to buy more skins because when am I going to use them?

#The Solution

Have a way for us to swap skins in game. No. Seriously. That's it. I'll feel a lot happier about random drops or repeated purchases if I was able to cycle through my skins on a consistent basis and use 2+ skins per game.

#Concerns

  • "But I don't want to swap skins! I like over "

Make it an option in-client. Bigger brain still, have skins you can turn on/off in the rotation.

  • "Won't it be hard to tell champions apart?"

Riot favors clarity and silhouette over all else. If a skin makes it difficult to tell a champion apart, maybe that skin should be for that champion then?

  • "I still won't buy multiple skins."

Fair point. Still, you may get a random skin drop from crafting that ends up being for another champ. Now your purchase can have SOME SORT OF VALUE rather than you having it sitting in your pack, never to be picked.

I like it, but being able to swap skins kinda take the thunder away from Ultimate skins.

I think a much simpler solution is to put a random skin selection in champion select so that you don't have to think about it and you just enter with what the game gives you including the original skin.

Either way I'm down.

Kind of a silly idea but one that already exists in the form of GGMF

You'd need to have the additional assets loaded into the game-server for each person, the assets for each skin the player has for their champion. If each person only had 1 skin per champion, that'd be an additional 10 different models, and potential VO, VFX and animations. If someone was a die-hard Ez main, that could be a potential 8 models and co. alone, along with the other people, so that could be up to 18 models and assets to need to load alongside the game.

Maybe that's not how it works, but regardless of all that, I really don't think there's an actual problem here to be solved? I myself have never had the issue/hesitation to buy a second skin for a champion I like, and may not be that die-hard a fan of, because at the end of the day, I really like the skin. I like having options between things I like. Hell, my biggest hesitation with buying skins nowadays, is that sometimes the base model is just so damn enjoyable that I just don't.

If we were able to swap skins in game that would just encourage Riot to continue making more skins for popular champs since now every can actually switch. Kindred will never see a skin at that rate.
