Vel'Koz: Basically the same, with some elaboration. Definitely a step up. Good job!

Lissandra: She's more of an anti-hero now, given that it was she who froze the Watchers in the first place. She's trying to kill all who may discover her former allegiance to the Watchers, but she's trying to stop the end of Runeterra as well. Not sure where she stands. But I kind of like it.

I honestly liked this new lore update. The Frostguard story was a good read and Lissandra’s new lore is refreshing for the most part. Vel’koz is my main, and saying that I am satisfied with his new lore. However I am a little sad he is more akin to a pawn though, but for those who think the same, keep in mind Vel’koz is basically one of the oldest (if not the oldest) Voidborn. To me it seems like Vel’koz is a Witch King like figure where the Watchers are Sauron (Lord of the Rings reference). Vel’koz is the herald of the invasion and might be a commander of sorts for the lesser Voidborn when the time comes for an invasion. Vel’koz is in control, he just serves a higher power.

Thanks Riot for the new lore! The Void is just so interesting of a place, and ever since I started playing League I have been curious about it.

I'm not understanding how Lissandra's actions and motivations match. She eventually turned on the Watchers and sealed them, but had to turn on her sisters to do it? Why? They all wanted to banish/eliminate the Watchers. Also, what is the point of rewriting history, eliminating "rival" Iceborn, or pitting the modern day Iceborn and their forces against each other, when it only weakens them? ( I haven't read her short story yet, maybe that will explain it)

Vel'Koz is awesome. So much lore for the Void.

Two of my favorite heroes. Hell yes.

Vel'Koz, holy shit. He's pretty good.

I don't like Lissandra's new bio. It's very confusing, both because of how poorly written it is and because of the contradicting information it relays. I'm also left unsatisfied by the worrying amount of retcons in the post-Institute of War lore: all the information we currently have feels ultimately volatile and insignificant, since any part of it could suddenly stop being canon once the narrative team writes itself into a corner again. I'm sorry to say that, but I'm extremely disappointed.

I haven't read the short story for Lissandra yet, but its def a bit of a retcon for her. Instead of there being some war between her and her sisters to stop the watchers, Lissandra chooses to stop the watchers herself.

Which doesn't make a lot of sense since she sacrificed her sisters to stop the watchers, but she only opposed the watchers because her sisters wanted her to

These were quite fascinating. The Frostguard are no longer a tribe it would seem, but a religious order.

It’s also nice to clarify he timeline a bit, Lissandra has now leveled up to hella old.

Edit: seeing as Nunu can create True Ice, he must be a pretty big deal.

A surprise to be sure but a welcome one. Can we also get a new story for Lissandra?

So, if I'm to understand correctly, the Watchers aren't directly aligned with the void, although they came from it?

NocaNoha8/20/2018, 4:33:58 PM2 votes

What I would like to see is void creatures being updated visually to something as the design on the Universe

Black "armored" parts, gold details and pale pink/purple for the soft tissue. The design at the end is a killer as well as the ones posted earlier on.. the one on Runeterra map

Idk if it's vague, or confusing, or me not thinking well, but could someone breakdown the bios?

Vel'Koz feels like a literal tool. Seems appropriate, though a little disappointing.

I don't understand Lissandra's relationship with the Watchers. She's against them, but also her nation?

Lissandra's seems less evil and vicious in this bio...

Tokogol > Kumungu ?
