Sound Change Suggestion For Draft Pick
I've noticed that VERY frequently players wait until the last 10 seconds before picking or banning their champion in draft pick. It occurred to me that one of the reasons this happens is because the sound effect changes and starts banging to get your attention. This is very good, and without this sound effect there'd be a lot more AFK draft dodges.
The following improvement would decrease AFK dodges even more, and also increase the speed that champions "lock in" during champion select:
Change the sound effect for when it is the player's turn (to pick or ban) to one that's more differentiated.
Currently, the sound for when it becomes your turn to select a champion is almost identical to the sound when it becomes another player's turn to select. Because of this, the sound has no meaning to our ears; over the course of a few games, players tune it out.
If it's my turn to pick or ban, make a special noise. Perhaps a zinging sound or higher-pitched fairy whirling noise?
Not only would this decrease the number of accidental dodges in queue, but it would encourage players to lock in quicker, as their attention would immediately focus to league's champion select. Rather than deciding who to play in the last 10 seconds (which players frequently do) players would more frequently decide in the first 10 seconds.
Overall, I think the 10-second remaining bangs are excellent, but with this minor improvement players could spend more time in-game, and less time in champion select and queue.
