.... whose in it?

Who would found it? How would the gather champions? What would be the big threat that causes the champions to unite? Would Demacians and Noxians fight side by side? Would the shadow isles be involved? What would the purple super man be doing? Would Ryze be the one to unite everyone against a common enemy? Would Demacia become further divided? How would this affect our beloved champions? Would Bandle City get involved?

Lets talk about it people! Theorize, discuss, analyze whatever you want I'm open to ideas (Original Hypothesis here https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/v4O4kVcZ-a-hypothesis-if-an-apocalyptic-event-began-in-runeterra-a-league-of-legends-would-be-formed )

I've brought this up before. The main problem with the League is that it restricts what Riot can do in their worldbuilding for the games' history because the League has so much power that everything in the old lore was "because the League" , but if they were to set it up for an act 3 it could definitely work as a last-ditch effort for an "Avengers" style team up to take down the bad guys. But only if they are reinstated much later in the overall story AND if they have their power level turned way down.

As for who would "found" it it would only naturally have to be this guy : Ryze. His whole character arc is about him saving humanity from itself so it's only natural that he would find out about the League and restart it.

I say restart because I think it's possible to salvage old lore AND the Summoners' Rift and make it work in the current continuity. Just place it further back on the timeline, right after the Darkin Wars. There is still symbology of Aatrox on the Rift so it still fits. In this new version the Magelords and Protectorate were survivors of the Darkin who gathered the scattered tribes under the banner and took to fighting each other with what they inherited from Darkin rule: blood magic and a penchant for violent conquest. Eventually an accord is struck, cooler heads prevail and both factions establish the League to police the world as they start to rebuild.

The only difference is that this version of the League of Legends would soon collapse after the apocalyptic Rune Wars, there are no OP summoners that can force compliance and the cheesy blood-sport to settle disputes element never happened. Furthermore not EVERY champion has to exist because of the League and have all of their motivations warped by its' existence (like old Fiddlesticks). It should be a humbler organization, just a few individuals simply carrying on the name of this former group and trying to pursue their ideals of global peace.

The League still operates like NATO or the U.N. would in the modern world. Trying to settle differences between the various nations so they can cooperate. If you played Mass Effect you know the formula. Introduce a threat large enough and people will reconcile their differences to survive. Namely here the Void AND the Celestials who I see as equally dangerous and pretty much guilty of the same crimes. This is about Runeterrans declaring freedom from all these supernatural forces that control them.

Champions with a more WORLDLY PoV, who see the big picture will be the ones to start it, people who have lost something in this crazy world of nonstop conflict, or those who are looking for redemption or just want to leave the world better than they found it will join up.
