Nautilus New Lore - Ideas and connection with the Shadow Isles

Hello, i would like to have a bit of a brainstorming session about a new lore for nautilus. The old one is outdated, and really the only thing that impress me of that old one, is the fact that some unidentified "black ooze" corrupted the poor man in the diving suit becoming this giant monster.

That is the core of hsi origin for now, but what if... that black ooze was infact The black mist?

During the Harrowing the black mist comes out corrupting every living being it encounter. Nautilus could be like the connection between Bilgewater and the undeads of the shadow isles. Infact while the diving suit reminds heavily of the Bilgewater themes, on the other hand he is really dark and gloomy, a giant monster and has a very spectral apperance (if you look at those bright lines that keep the suit together they remind me heavily of the spectral beings on the shadow isles).

So i think it would be an amazing idea to let Nauti be both a Bilgewater themed ADN shadow isles themed champ

I also think that the black mist was likely the cause for nauts transformation. Like the undeads attacked his ship, which tried to flee and left nautilus behind and while the black mist corrupted naut underwater, the undeads didn't even notice him,so he wasn't taken back to the shadow isles.

The thing is Nautilus seems both personally and naturally opposed to the Harrowing for a few reasons.

Firstly he has actually battled against the Harrowing before, which would be impossible if he was transformed by the Black Mist because it would've ensnared his soul and by proxy made him subservient to Mordekaiser, but as we know he managed to stall the tenth Harrowing and caused its forces to split in two, leading to the reaping of Smuggler's Cove and the Battle of Knife Straits respectively.

Second the power of the sea itself seems opposed to the Harrowing, as we see with Illaoi's lore. She talks about how the strongest of Nagakabouros's children are able to consume the mists to deal with the mist, protecting the land, which speaks volumes to their size and power. Not only that but Illaoi invokes the god's power to repel the Harrowing, and as we all know Nagakabouros is a god of the sea, storms, life, etc.

Let's also not forget that the Mist doesn't affect sea creatures all that much, if it all. It more or less avoids it, skirting over the top of the sea. It can ensnare the souls of sea monsters like the Krakenwyrm from Shadow and Fortune, but seemingly didn't take the soul of the Blue Flame Leviathan that was summoned to defeat the Harrowing a couple of years back. Coupling this with the serpents eating the mists and I feel there's a strong case that the greatest of sea monsters are immune to the Harrowing's power, or at least highly resistant to it.

The sea if vast and deep, to the point where our earthly seas have only had about 1% of their deepest reaches explored, and the world down there is vastly different to the surface world. No, in Nautilus's case, I'm more inclined to say his corruption and transformation was the result of some oceanic force; an ancient primordial power from the depths of the abyss that is the sea. With that in mind I feel he's distinct from things like the Harrowing and the Void and could potentially be one of Bilgewater's greatest weapons to fight the Harrowing, if Illaoi's ok with it, which given her relationship with him on her champion page might be not so great.
