Question! Which is canon, the splash or the in-game model?

As we all know, there are often some slight differences between a champion's or a skin's splash and their in-game model. I understand why that happens and I'm not here to debate whether or not Riot should do it, I'm just wondering which one is considered the official/real/correct look.

Asking partly because I'm 3D modeling a thing that might turn into a cosplay at some point and I want to make sure I get it right, and partly just because I'm curious.

Things are often more detailed when it comes to splashes, so I'd usually pick splashes for a better representation of the actual in-lore look.

I'd argue that the splash CAN give more detail, but it depends on how old the splash art is compared to the champion (i.e., using Kingpin Twitch's current model over it's outdated splash art, because the splash is before he was got his VU).

I think it could really be just whichever one looks better, but I personally would pick the splash art. Things often look different in game because it's difficult to create that level of detail.

The splash art. The In game model has less details and a different size due gameplay.

Would you consider your physical self or some professionally photographed (probably photo-shopped) picture of you to be the "real" one?

In game model.

Both, and it depends on the champion really.

Garen got his VU after Commando Garen's splash art, which doesn't have the berret unlike the in-game model
