After seeing the new map, Zaun and Piltover make no sense

How exactly is Zaun bellow Piltover if both cities are on the sea? I tried to figure out if the Sun Gates that are talked about somehow hold the sea from flooding Zaun, but I just can't grasp the geography of the place. Can someone explain please?

Piltover and Zaun were built ON the cliffs/strait that Piltover later destroyed in order to create the Sun Gate between the eastern and western seas. Piltover is largely on the straight itself, while Zaun lies in the ruins Piltover created beneath it. That is why Zaun and Piltover require elevators in order to reach one another.

I thought.

Piltover is pretty high up, and it seems like Zaun is partially built tinto the undersides of cliffs

Ughm, they are not on the sea? They have land under their city. Even though it is a small peninsula, it is still likely enough for them to build an underground city.

And even without that, let's not forget Piltover and Zaun are 2 the most technologically developed regions. Zaun is probably capable of holding water outside of their city. Even in real life we can do that in a limited way, dams.

Magic.

Also what kinda confused me as well is that on some pictures of Zaun you can see that they are on the open sky not underground.. And even on some you can see the land around piltover and zaun..

If rito ever makes city maps that go into the world map do Zaun/Piltover first. It's hard to visualize

Yeah. Even while they brought new paints of the Sun Gates with the new map, I still don't figure how that whole ordeal functions. Are the Sun Gates a waterfilled platform that crosses over the valley where Zaun is located? Or is it just an open arm of water whose pass in controled by Piltover?
