Now that Neeko is getting closer to be release, I legitimately and patiently waits for Kumungu Lore

Am i the only one expecting the rebirth of the Kumungu Jungles Lore and it being a faction? Not only that but nidalee and zyra's lore will be updated and maybe kha'zix and rengar(new color story only because his bio got updated in the vastaya lore update) too. Maybe even gnar and ezreal because they visited the faction.

I really really hope-pingly wish that nida, zyra and rengar's faction being shurima is just a place holder. Please dont make the same mistake again like adding icathia to the void faction even though icathia can stood by itself being a faction. Adding Kumungu Jungles in Shurima is a no no for me. Don't make an excuse like making them shurima champs because they lived in the shuriman continent, if so, i will question the position of mt.tragon being a faction. Shurima faction =/= shuriman continent. because shurima affiliated champs has their own agenda like whats happening in the capital and them living in sand(lol),etc. While in Kumungu(or another name because its a subject to change) Jungles can have a new fresh take on its culture, people, etc. making it a possible faction candidate.

Don't crush my dreams please! I've been wishing kumungu to be a faction fo a year now. Specially that my nunu has been updated, i can focus my propaganda to defend the jungles.

Maybe the 4 lock stories in the neeko page on the client is about nida and zyra's lore, neeko's color story and the kumungu jungle page.

They can do many things with the jungle. They can create its own culture ways of stuff and tribes living there magic etc. What I don't want to see is just "Nida is from there and the jungle is scary bye "

It'll probably be its own faction. Shurima's outline specifically excluding the eastern jungle on the Runeterra map heavily suggests it:

The champions from there are different enough from classic Shurimans that it would be weird to just call them Shuriman.

I made a thread about possible Kumungu lore. It actually has a lot of potential on its own based on what we know already from old lore and based on the other places around it.

How has the Rune Wars effected Kumungu? Old lore was something along the lines of Kumungu was the site of a giant magic battle. What was the fallout of that. Are their crazy magical anomalies that distort time and change how gravity works because the crazy amount of magic released there has created reality altering effects? Would be a cool analogue. If the Rune War was WW2, then Kumungu was Hiroshima and magic is the radiation.

How does Kumungus' proximity to Icathia and the Void effect it? The Void is spreading throughout Shurima and it's a barren desert how terrible would it be if it just started rampaging through an abandoned jungle teeming with life. Assuming really bad is the answer. There is no way that the Void would run ramshackle without people controlling it by burning away at risk jungle life.

How does the society in Kumungu work? Is it just isolated tribes living out their lives, just trying to survive in the jungle? Seems a bit boring. How about a secret society in the heart of the jungle that are extremely isolationist in nature. (Having your home used as a staging ground for the most destructive war of all time will do that to you) They use tribes situated around their citadel feigning ignorance and savagery to dissuade explorers from going too deep into the heart of the jungle and discovering that the people of the Kumungu are more than meet the eye. Effectively hiding themselves from the world.

Lots of possibilities. I used these three main points to come up with a secret society that lives in an anomaly-ridden, war scarred jungle and does what they can to curb the growth of the Void in the jungle, (as a stroke of irony wouldn't it be funny if they were forced to use runes to destroy large swathes of the jungle because that's what was used to destroy it and now they must use runes to save it)

So on the map, the region description would read like this :

Kumungu Jungle Secret Jungle Society

Governance:
Tribal Distribution of Authority (The actual Kumungu tribe would function as a "federal" government that controls certain aspects of the dummy tribes like "states")

Attitude Towards Magic: Practical (They know that the Runes are capable of massive destruction, but as a pragmatic people, Kumungu tribes use them judiciously to control Void growth)

Level of Technology:
Low (In decoy tribes)
Medium (In central citadel)
(Proximity to Piltover/Zaun and Bilgewater has led to technology bleeding into Kumungu but to maintain the illusion, the dummy states use Freljord/Shuriman/Ionia levels of tech)

General Environment: Teeming Jungle

Pretty sure not the whole Shurima as a faction is a desert. A part of the eastern Shurima has some forest territories and the Southern coast of Shurima does too. Also the oasises and cities built around them, and recently the big asf river thanks to Azir which is also has terrain for agriculture and settlements. Shurima is not all desert or its population would be low asf (which it isnt because of the reasons already lised, as most of the population is in cities and settlements and the rest are either tribes, mercenaries or raiders, and the tribes have adapted to living in the desert).
