To people who canonically believes Zed x Syndra is right...

... what is your reason to ship them and believe they are canonically a couple? (except they looking good together ofc)

What is your reason to ship them when Zed is a fanatical nationalist and a person that tries to protect Ionia in a brutal and one-dimensional way, and Syndra is a total hater of Ionia, who seeks to destroy the continent and its people until nothing is left?

It is okay to ship them non-canonically, as you can ship anyone with anything in your imagination. But saying it is canon with new lore is being delusional. They will clearly be enemies in future of lore, when they are aware of each other, and Zed will try to assassinate her. Because when I analyze Zed's personality, I see him as he is affliated to his goals deeply and loves his country more than a hot chick.

I dont think any ship besides ones like Kat x Garen and Xayah x Rakan will ever really be "Confirmed" because well. That would just upset too many people. I guess if you want to make the argument, you could say that Zed could perhaps see Syndra as a way to build an Ionia that people would fear, destroy those who are weak etc etc. But that's also assuming a lot of Zed's goals, Syndra's willingness to help him, things like that.

Point is, can't really confirm many ships ya know? We all got our own, most just kinda keep it to themselves.

Unless its....Ahri x Wukong.

I don't think anyone has ever said it was canon. Don't think anyone says ships are canon (except for things like Katarina and Garen). People just like the ship

Was this in her leaked story or something? Her bio says

Syndra now aims to grow powerful enough to destroy the weak, foolish leaders of Ionia - and anyone else who would dare to shackle her greatness.

Her goals don't sound contradictory to Zed and it doesn't say she wants to obliterate the entire continent or its people until nothing is left. I don't ship them but just wondering where you got that.

Not saying I'm for canon Zed X Syndra but they could always argue that Zed could be a character development arc for Syndra.

Zed is probably very charismatic consider how fast he build his order up, so him being able to convince her to not hate Ionia but its tradition and join him is possible.

Also they are both shun for using their power and both believe power should not be fear. Having shared pain can make them closer. Or it could just be being together to obtain more power but grow into something more.

Zed is more of a patriot than a nationalist. He only got involved in the war once his country got invaded, and he even adopted Kayn, while a blinded-by-hatred nationalist would have killed him. He also killed his teacher for being 'incompetent and bad for Ionia'.

The Ionian leaders who imprisoned Syndra weren't really the nicest of people apparently. They're the same assholes who released Jhin into the world. She killed her teacher, while Zed, 'a villain', is loved by Kayn.

I can see why they would join forces and act like allies. The ship itself is still not canon, but most communities like to ship any two characters with even a little bit of interaction.

Lol, im waiting for the "but theyre friends, it confirms it in the related champions section." Canonically the league doesn't exist anymore.... Zed and Syndra was never originally planned it would seem, proved by the fact that they weren't related to eachother in any way until a fanfiction shipping the two became somewhat popular. As homage to that, they were added to eachother's "related champions" list. We can't say for sure they've met or havent met, as they may have met in passing, but without actual interaction/ Riot confirmation in posts........ lol

Well, originally, Syndra and Zed were both fanatic individualists who just wanted to grow their own power and master the forbidden shadow arts, respectively. Their hatred for Ionia was coincidental, because Ionia didn't want them to do so (they feared Syndra's power and had forbidden Zed's shadow arts). They were also listed as allies/friends on the League site for no apparent reason, which led people to speculate that they may have teamed up to face their more numerous and entrenched enemies. One thing led to another, and now people see them as a really cute couple. For whatever reason. This was at a point in time where Riot didn't take its lore too seriously, it just kinda existed and nobody paid it any real mind.

With their more recent lore updates (leaked and otherwise) it seems like that idea's been shot in the foot.
