(considering he has a thing for snakes in this skin) Or was it a weapon left by project... considering one of his quotes while recalling is: "I am not the only monster project left behind." There must be something about that thing... because I clearly remember the giant fish in his default skin's recall is actually the Jaw... Jahl... Jawl... However the %%%% you spell it... Jahl fish... idk how to spell it.. which was a serious part in his base lore, being the fish that devoured him. I wonder if the mechanical serpent thing is a part of Project Pyke's lore.

Jaull-Fish.

And yeah, its interesting.

That thing is likely a Program, as its completely robotic, that PROJECT made for... Some reason. It looks to be some sort of containment system or mech, seeing as how it straps Pyke in, seemingly trapping him. Maybe its some sort of containment unit meant for more dangerous PROJECTs that Pyke bonded with somehow while trapped in it. Maybe its just a mechanical suit meant to allow humans to travel underground safely. Hopefully it does have some explanation/lore, though.

Maybe it isn't real, PROJECT Pyke seems to be suffering from some kind of memory malfunction. His "stealth" takes place in his memory banks as well. Vanilla Pyke is a ghost so the incorporeal nature of data is a good fit to replace the Jaulfish spectre.

Honestly, I'd say he straps himself in like one would an exo-suit, perhaps it was some sort of Program/Project hybrid program where they can work independently, or 'fuse' to work as a single stronger unit?

Though it being a containment program that Pyke hijacked into his own personal form of transport seems fitting.
