I bought the Prestige Aatrox skin. Here's some thoughts:

Pros: Really good looking, especially on Aatrox who naturally walks very proudly The spell effects are all really well done The feather wings are a nice touch and super unique among Aatrox's skin offerings The "Goblin Slayer" like red eyes with trailing particles work really well with his Q movements and feel super dynamic Possesses one of the best splash arts in the game imo

Cons: I had some excess RP laying around, but it still stung to "pay" so much for a skin that's ultimately below legendary tier There's no border for this Prestige skin, unlike the previous two There's no fully unique splash for this Prestige skin, unlike the previous two

Overall: It's a really good skin and I'm happy I had the extra RP to enjoy it. That said, it's too expensive. I don't mind spending RP, but I'd like to see the skins appropriately matched to their price tag. I feel a skin of this quality, pricing and "prestige" qualifies for unique voice work.

The fact that this skin sets the precedent for prestige skins lacking a unique splash art/ border contributes to the feeling that Riot could have done more here. The fundamentals are solid and the skin is great, but going forwards I'm going to wait and see how Riot distributes those prestige points throughout the year. I don't plan on buying another prestige outright unless it's :-P

On another note, what's up with gemstones?

I've been gathering them for two years, and now that I've reached a solid 20, they aren't being useful in providing access to prestige skins. Why add an unnecessary currency in prestige points when gemstones are already essentially doing the same thing?

If they are going to price Prestige skins as high as they are, I'd like to see more done to the skin. New VO, Particles, Splash etc. I feel that the Aatrox Prestige skin is just lower quality than the other two. He gets some changes to particles, but that's it? If they were to stick to the original pitch and have them as rare alternate versions of the skin that were attached to more than just RP ( I enjoyed the grind for both KD/A Prestige skins ) I might be a little more forgiving to the lack of new VO. Give us alternate Splash Art, give us modified particle effects and slap on that white/gold chroma coloring, and make it ACTUALLY a reward that was worked for.

I might give them a pass if they start throwing some Prestige Points out in events, but my question is how hard will those be to get? More or less than the grind for the KD/A skins? It will be spread across the year, so I expect the number of Prestige Points distributed to be low and infrequent if they want to keep the exclusivity of these skins. That creates it's own problems though, similar to the ones that Gemstones have atm.

See, the issue is no matter how much you complain, you still contributed to the problem by buying the skin. All you've done is show them that people, even if they feel bad, will pay four times Legendary price for a tenth the Legendary effort on their part.

Worst idea from riot I seen in awhile. I like skins willing to buy them and chromas. Willing to grind some, but you want 100$ now for random skins normally trashed into a crap amount of orange essence and a chroma? I had liked this game cause you could at least have a fair price. and hex skis although hard you could possibly get in time. However this is outrageous.

Well. I got Kai'Sa cause I wanted to celebrate Worlds, liked the champion and prestige edition was meant to be **super rare and exclusive. **

Got Akali cause the grind got adjusted, the quality was way better compared to Kai'Sa and I still have hope that Riot manages to revive her.

The thing is, Aatrox and Vayne don't live up to the standard set by Akali and it might get even worse. It's not prestige anymore if you can get a new skin every month and it's basically a chroma with a recolored splash art.

I like buying lootboxes and these skins give you the feeling that even if you get terrible skin shards - you're still one step closer to obtaining good stuff. But these new skins aren't exciting or desirable so it ruins the fun.

Give us alternate Splash Art, give us modified particle effects and slap on that white/gold chroma coloring, and make it ACTUALLY a reward that was worked for.

That's probably the only way to save this "prestige line" fantasy. Or they could recolor legendary skins with alternative voiceovers - that would more or less make them woth 120 dollars :/
