What if...

The "Summoners" are entities locked inside the Nexus? They call champions from differents part of the world to free them guiding them in this battlefield outside of space and time to destroy their prison and free them so that actually the blue team champions are guided by the red Nexus and the red team champions are guided by Summoners entrapped into the blue one.
