If <Champion> was released today...

Usually this type of thread is for some big meme about dashes and stuns and damage and blah blah blah.

But if you look at the board we're in right now, you'd notice it's all about lore...So let's flip the script a bit. How would your champion look visually and what dialogue/gimmicks would they have if they were out today?

For an example: Viktor

  • Ctrl + 5 flips through the various hexcore colors he's unlocked.
  • Specific voice lines for each hexcore upgrade as well as the final one.
  • The usual cavalcade of specific taunts with Zaun and Piltover champs.
  • Exclusive lines for stopping dashes with the improved W.
  • Secret lines hinting at new robots/champions.
  • Character comparisons to champions who have lasers like Vel'koz or Xerath
  • Special interaction with Prototype viktor about how bad he used to look before evolving.

Lol @ the other comments, but I imagine if Cho came out today his model would “evolve” as he grew bigger. He’d have different voice lines for eating different champs, and his gentleman skin would probably be the best thing in the game.

Draven

  • Would fix his hair occasionally in between auto-attacks
  • Idle animation where he'd admire himself in a popup mirror.
  • Upon recall, two beautiful Noxian women would appear in Draven's arms, to which shows off his muscles, pushes them away and then kisses a mirror instead.
  • Larger library of humorous, narcissistic voice lines.
  • Nicer clothes, cause let's be real he's probably boujee. No rat-tail 'stache, decent beard. Straighter/nicer teeth.
  • Would taunt every champion by saying they'd look better if they were a mirror.
  • Would taunt Jhin by saying he can't perfect perfection.
  • Interactions with Darius, probably about how Darius is ugly.

Nidalee

  • Updated in-game model to match how damn gorgeous her splash is (and not look orange)
  • Quotes of confusion upon purchasing items that are advanced technology wise.
  • Idle animation while in the river in cougar form would include playing in the water, and human form would be Nidalee trying to clean herself up.
  • Approaching jungle monsters would trigger a growl from Nidalee in both human and cougar form.
  • Make a joke about hunting Azir.
  • Make a joke about hunting Fizz.
  • Would mention it's the prime of mating season around very attractive male champions.
  • Would stutter explaining how it is definitely and absolutely NOT mating season around people like Gragas, Urgot, etc.
  • Would probably make a vegan joke towards Zyra.
  • Idk about lore interactions cause her lore is doodoo atm. (I could fix that btw just saying)

Lux W: Dash to a location, shielding all allies you pass through, including self. Passive: Procs on spell hits.

  • 8 variations of laughs, all super annoying.
  • Laugh triggers on ability casts.
  • Occasionally mocks Garen.
  • Pretends not to be a mage.
  • Taunts any champ with a laser, saying hers is bigger.

If Elise was released today, the biggest change would be the amount of voice lines she'd have.

She'd interact with Shadow Isles/Noxian champions and Kindred. She'd have "friendly" taunts where she beckons other champions to join her cult. She'd have flirtatious jokes with Eve ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

Leona -Innecesseraly complex armour design. -All quotes would be "Burn the heretic!" "The sun demands it!" "If you don't pray to the sun, you burn!" -Her story would consist in being the worst kind of edgy inquisitorial zealot. -They would expect us to feel sympathy for her because "order". -Her E would lunch her to her enemies in long distances, launch her enemies to her in short, and launch both to the middle in middle distances. -Her W would also probide a shiled to her ADC, and vanish if they got two inches too apart from each other. -Her armour would be lowered to give her attack damage, even while she is supposed to be a tank support.

Ashe -Many more voice lines, with special interactions toward every Freljordian champion and some others. -An outfit that makes sense for her climate. -A homeguard running animation. -Inspiring walking and attacking lines, both internal and external. -Mentions of present conflicts with Sejuani and fears of the return of the Watchers. -Lore about her oathbinding to Tryndamere, their relationship, and any children.

If my main Miss Fortune were released today:

  • Still be insanely beautiful because I feel Riot would still follow the theme of Beauty and Danger for MF.
  • There would be a homeguard animation and enhanced recall.
  • She would get dialogue options when speaking to other Bilgewater champions and of course other champions in general as all characters do now-a-days. Also, she would talk non-stop about bounties, getting paid, etc. (Bascially, she would get GGMF's VO).
  • Her lore would entirely different OR Gangplank would also be released alongside her as to not mess anything up lore-wise, thus creating the Bilgewater expanded lore I know and have come to love.
  • I feel her kit would be higher-skill than it is today and wouldn't be super similar to GP (her E, his ult, her Q, and I think his Q).
  • Another thing about the VO: Less flirty, more cold, revengeful, and all-around badass.
  • Her model? That would probably be the same... or it would look a lot more like Captain Fortune instead of her existing classic.

Basically, if any of the older releases were released today they would get the same treatment.

VO, cool model, cool abilities, lore, homeguard, slow walk, etc.

Garen

  • visually everything from armor to the weapon would look totally different. Demacia’s look has been established, and he looks nothing like it

  • his gameplay would be different. Because of lore his Ult wouldn’t look the same. They’d have it look less magic like. And it’s probably do more than execute just one perso (recent champs have an execute that does a lot more than his). He could have the same skill floor but the skill ceiling would be much higher (eg. Warwick)

  • his VO would be less campy. Less screaming and have more of a serious tone and more things to say.

  • his animations would have all the bells and whistles of recent releases (homeguard run, slow run, etc). His spin wouldn’t look as campy (eg. his legendary skin)

  • Unique voice-line interactions (Diana, Fizz, Gangplank and other Vastayan champions)

Okay I'm just copying Taliyah's ultimate here but it's all I could think of (it would be really cool, though). Probably would have a lot more voice lines like several of the new champions but other than that I don't see what they could do differently unless they just added dashes like all the other new champs.

Thresh

  1. Basically a ranged Pyke in gameplay
  2. Design is more indicative of an actual Blessed Isles inhabitant and not Bonecoat McGee (I love the bonecoat but lbrh they would not keep it)
  3. Follows the Yorick model of "looks more human but in a creepy way" for Shadow Islanders
  4. Way more sass towards the other Shadow Islanders, like an unnecessary amount of shade
  5. Taunts Lucian to hell and back
  6. Lines include intercuts from Senna, similar to the Maiden of the Mist
  7. Play up the fact that the whole order straight-up forgot he was in the vault that turns men mad for sympathy despite murder
  8. Legit chains all over his design, none of this bone vertebrae stuff
  9. Lines sound much MUCH more childish to fit with his nursery rhyme theme (which they'd keep and you know it) I have thought about this.

MonkeyKing

  • Would likely look more like a hybrid creature rather then just a humanoid monkey. Still VERY monkey like, just adding some of those Vastayan Chimera aspects the newer Vastaya have.

  • Armor would look one of two ways. More tribal to reflect his Tribe or look more like MasterYi's to reflect being his student. or option C where its a mix of both.

  • Why does he have cloud and decoy abilities? Vastayan magic, that's why ;)

  • Staff that was made by Doran Ancient Vastayans. Had it since he was a child or something. That, or he takes it when he goes on his journey to find humans to fight.

  • Face would be more animated like we've seen with Poppy and Zoe. He's a jokester type character, so he would need to be pretty animated to reflect that.

  • Would have interactions... period .__.

  • Interaction with Decoy users (Shaco and Leblanc)

  • Interactions with MasterYi (on enemy team, on same team, taunt, on kill, etc.)

  • Interaction with combat lovers (Braum Jax Fiora Garen Darius )

  • Interaction with Kings/rulers (JarvanIV Aatrox Mordekaiser Tryndamere Azir Swain). Weather it's in the past or current times, Riot can't seem to go without those Journey to the West references for Wukong :L

  • Interaction with Ahri, likely accounting some journey they go on that hasn't happened in the lore yet.

  • Interaction with Rakan and Xayah, kind of feel like every Vastayan in the future will need a quote to them about their opinion of their rebellion.

  • Interaction with Spin to Win champs (Garen Katarina, whoever else Riot considers spin to win)

  • Taunts for attacking/Ulting his decoy

  • More high end Visual effects that are easier to customize for each skin.

  • Actually attacks like he is using a staff rather then swatting at enemies like it's a stick

  • Music that plays with his Ult.

This goes without saying but a Viktor VO update would require to be more authentic to his in-universe personality.

Also they should drop the white-washed Russian accent for something else, or get an actual Russian to do the acting- we all love Colossus now, and it would be more appropriate compared to what Overwatch has done.

  • You can Jump when in powerball mode.
  • Taunt needs a mark to activate (The mark is activated when you attack rammus or he attacks you)
  • He'd have real speeches.

Vi

Specific voice lines when she destroys structures - "Wait, this tower wasn't hiding Jinx? Grr...." (outer turrets) "Not here either? Do I have to wreck the entire place AGAIN?" (turrets that aren't outer turrets) "HA!!! Take THAT! Now I can sit back, relax, and let those guys handle the rest" (inhibs) "At this point I just like breaking things" (nexus)

Specific voice lines when against Officer Vi "Slacking on the job again?" "STOP eating those donuts! You've got crumbs all over your face again!"

Voice lines when with Caitlyn "We've got a suspect on the run" - Cait "Cool, do I get to beat them up?" - Vi

Also, idk if this is possible but when QT's playing with a Vi it would be cool if Vi could say "You can't run or hide from the D1 police QT! Stop resisting arrest!"

Rappel would go to everyone, venomous bite would apply on-hit, Rappel's bonus effect would be in her skittering frenzy, and neurotoxin would slow.
