How can we make Jarvan IV more interesting?

He needs an Audio Update at the very least.

An Akali level VGU would be the dream.

Unfortunately, I doubt he's on the short list considering how he got a skin fairly recently

Well, step number one. Give him his own story. Not "How I met my dragon girlfriend." Not "How my bodyguard best buddy saved me." Not "Some of my people are mistreated and that's bad."

All of those can be a part of his story, but in essence all of that is actually about other characters: Shyvana, Garen, and Lux respectively.

That's really Jarvan's problem. Currently, he's "the good prince" but there's no story there, there's no character to latch on to. He's more a prop for everyone else to bounce off of. What are his struggles? What are his dreams? What are his prejudices? Right now, the answer to all of this is "I dunno he's just kinda honorable and Demacian." Well, Garen already does that and does it better because of the self-denial about his sister adds some depth to him.

Now this isn't to say that Jarvan can't be a purely good paragon. I know a lot of people think that a totally good hero is uninteresting. They're wrong. But I can see where they're coming from, it's a little harder to make generically good hero interesting. If you want to have him be a generically good guy, then show how being a generically good person takes struggle and conviction and how that works when placed within a not generically good setting.

Show him dealing with political intrigue. Show him trying to keep Demacia afloat when the armies of Noxus are at their doorstep. Show him struggle and lose his way for a little bit. But give him his own damn story. Something.

I agreed. I usually don't play him because he's boring and uninteresting.

Riot could rework him side by side with Ryze and just add to his number each time. IV, V, VI and so on lol
