What Would Demacia Imprison?

By now, I think we've all seen this image on one of Riot's upcoming champions:

Polished grey stone, hints of sweeping architecture, and thick, bold, yet elegantly curved golden chains hint strong at Demacia. And what might Demacian imprison? Well, something powerfully magical, no doubt -- their prisons would be naturally well-suited to it. Something possibly with hooves, as, if you look closely, you'll see legs in the image that don't appear to end in normal feet.

Thoughts? What sort of dread beastie do you think might be lurking just out of sight?

Those really look like high heels to me not hooves...

I definitely don't think they needed chains to imprison a mage. You'd need chains like these to contain someting of a berserker.

As to what would demacia imprison? Traitor. Noxian?

The chains are also noticeably long for some reason...

It CAN'T be a mage thought. It's not because of the lore, let me explain:

1)The official schedule is : Nunu, Ezreal, Colorful mage, Chain, Morg/Kayle

This year, in terms of AP champs we already have or getting : Swain (AP carry), Akali (AP assassin), Nunu (AP juggernaut, he will have his ult), Colorful mage (Mid or enchanter, still an AP champ), Ezreal who is a AP/AD hybrid
Last December we got Zoe (we got alot of mage in a row now huh ?)
Riot tries to keep diversity in his champ release
Kayle and Morg, AP carries, will be VGU'ed around February
If Riot releases a NEW champ (not VGU), it means it will have a new/awesome gameplay trick

No matter what's there, it's not going to be AP/Mage/APC w/e. It's going to be some sort of magical creature binded by his chains. It got out, but he can't use his magic (or only partially) and will use his chains somehow as his main weapon

If it's a prison, and it's Demacia, then it's something Demacia couldn't kill, which is worrying for a number of reasons. Do we have a source specifying that this is a sort of prison?

The chains seem a little long for it, but it's worth mentioning that flails use chains as a part of the weapon. It is a fantasy setting, even with Demacia being low/no magic, so giant chains on a flail isn't entirely out of the question.

In the Legends Never Die cinematic chains were used during Garen's training, so maybe it's someone involved with that. The image doesn't suit this idea too well, as those chains are a bit on the fancy side and the angle doesn't really do it.

If it's not Demacia it could be from Piltover. They are high class, and favor fancy design. Maybe it's less of a prison and more of an exotic beast on display?

It looks human, at least.

I'm thinking either a shapeshifter or magical creature, or a Noxian criminal. Maybe a rogue Demacian mage or soldier? Perhaps we'd finally get an "evil" Demacian character that isn't Vayne.

I don't think it's a minotaur or anything hooved. Alistar was the previously captured minotaur who broke free of his bonds and does whatever (his lore is dated). But anyways, as it stands, his story is already about a beast man who escaped his imprisonment and earned his freedom, so I'm hesitant to say that they'd duplicate his lore for someone new (but then, they ALMOST did that with Pyke... so it's not totally unprecedented.)

I think it is the Freljord and not Demacia. Just look at the chains in the howling abyss. They have the same diamond type shape like in all of the Freljord pictures while most chains I have ever seen are oval shaped. This leads me to believe that it is Willump in the picture because Nunu is the next champion rework.

Demacia would imprison literally anything that doesn’t worship the country, so it could be anything.

I think it will be a very brutal shape-shifter/berserker tied up in those chains. And This creature might be a very angry Vastayan and attacked Demacians for it. I would also point out that the legs are ending in shoes, so I believe that this particular person was the gentlemen at Demacia at one point. Maybe he got possessed by a demon or some incarnate Darkin. Now that I think about this, I think that one in chains must have been a Darkin if I would be right.

Well I am not too sure as to what this is... Ever since I saw this teaser I have been perplexed.

Compiling Theories and Observations:

As you guys have noted, to me it looks mostly Demacian, but it could also be another nation.

Bandle City, The Shadow Isles, and Demacia are probably next in line for lore updates.

The large influx of mages in recent times may lead to this being an AD champion (though who knows)?

We already have a chain warden (thresh) so that small niche is taken up, though a prisoner would be neat.

Could possibly be a vastaya or a beast of some sorts, or even someone wearing an odd form of clothing for being imprisoned.

Speculation aside, part of me hopes this Champion is connected to the Shadow Isles in a way, since I am a big fan of that region. However, most of the information we know points to Demacia.

Anyways, we will need to just keep an eye out for more information, and keep theorizing!

I'm still not sure if they are hooves or not, it is rather hard to see perfectly clearly in that image but another humanoid creature could be interesting should it turn out to have hooves.

I wonder if the chains will play into this champions kit. I think that could be interesting to see as well if they came up with some other ways to use chains.

Perhaps it is not a "prisoner", but an "imprisoner". The chains are long in order to be thrown and potentially prevent mages from using magic. Perhaps as the chains absorb magic from opposing mages they gain a will of their own as well (Something like galio)? Which would mean that while this Demacian is not a magician himself, the chains he uses probably absorb magic and he can use the absorbed magic to manipulate his chains.

Idk if those are hooves or heels? Legs look a bit hairy tho? What ever it may be,if it ends up being from Demacia it's going to be an AP oriented champion.
