It makes sense actually. Malz never actually entered the void, thus he was never altered by it (unlike 
). But with his new passive that details him entering the void, his body has begun to mutate from the exposure.
If a void update is what's coming next, then I cannot wait to see how they deal with and his (hopefully still canon) daughter.
