Riot's update attempt with Varus' Lore caused a lot of issues for Varus' Character

Almost a full year, and looking back at it. It just annoys me that they had to completely rewrite all of the lore in an attempt to create more diversity in Runeterra by introducing the first gay couple, which this lore is basically all just centered around.

Personally I have no issues with introducing LGBTQ+ characters in League but I wish that they didn't have to completely scratch off almost Varus' entire personality/character from previous lore in the process.

I would go on to say what my own issues are with the lore and why the whole thing caused more issues than created more clarity but most of the things are covered in this video.

I have more of a problem with the fact that they introduced all these amazing stories, arts, and character model updates in their lore and color stories . . . . but it doesn't reflect it at all in game. I have a problem with their work ethic that doesn't actually want to give us completed content.

While this is true for the initial rewrite of his character I'd say they did eventually fix these problems with his second lore rewrite, because that one did focus more on Varus and not the 2 guys that make up his body.

And it actually keeps his character pretty intact, with Varus being someone who lost his family because he stood his ground and fulfilled his duty and who is now consumed by his desire for vengeance.

I'm not at all bothered if a character can expand their narrative beyond what the in-game version could ever hope to represent (so long as the champ isnt currently need of a vgu anyway). That's kinda the fact of the matter with building an unrestricted lore.

Riot commits character assassination and deletes a beloved character for a boring darkin but gets a pass because it's woke and had a pretty cinematic.

I can barely be bothered to follow this game's lore anymore.
