"New Aatrox Is A Starscream instead of a Megatron"

This was posted somewhere in a discussion about new Aatrox' VO, and I have to agree.

I started playing League around the time Gnar came out, and Aatrox has been my favourite champion since. I stuck with the character through thick and thin, and God knows it took a whole lot out of me to keep playing him after the last set of changes implemented to his passive and such.

This rework is ok overall. I'm worried about the switch from AA-based gameplay to a spellcaster style, but I'm willing to adjust and deal with that. I'm sad to see the bannered wings and Aatrox' more elegant form go, but I can get used to him being beefier and more gritty, and only having (generic) wings while in his ult form.

The thing that is too difficult for me to overcome, though, is his new voice over. Old Aatrox had the VO of a warrior-poet. A quote from a Dylan Thomas poem was thrown in there, and several of the things he had to say were things worth thinking about. What's on PBE now is nice and cool, but it's such a farcry from what I, and many Aatrox players, grew to love. He used to have a deep and raspy voice that fit his ageless persona, but now his over-the-top, high-pitched edginess shows a clear lack of substance; elegance and uniqueness were thrown out the window for flashiness and mass-appeal.

Aatrox was the first Darkin to break free, he's the "World Ender," and the one who set up an appointment for your kind and Oblivion. I personally think it would make much more sense for such a character to have deep-pitched and commanding, bass-y lines, not the spasms of a whiny and excitable underling.

I understand the argument that his new vo fits what the Darkin are meant to be now more, but we never asked for this. All we wanted was for our champion with a cool theme to be playable.
