Wait a second... the bard is a D*ck

i was thinking about the video and something did flow to my mind: the bard did steal the cosmic egg from the ionian old man and send it to the sky.

when the bard appeared, the old man begged him to NOT steal it, since he said "without it we will die" and you know, they did probably died.

the bard did not help them, he was just wandering arround and beng a d*ck with ionians.

For all we know, the old man was wrong and Bard's actions saved everyone off-screen and the village went on to throw a massive cake party, living happily ever after.

Thats the best part about videos that have zero context on a lore-less game: Everything you want to believe in is canon!

(Was it even confirmed those guys are from Ionia?)

I find this lore sort of disappointing because I had started to envision Bard as being really friendly and open, sort of like a cosmic Braum with even better facial hair, who was just friends with everyone. Bard is hard enough to connect with with his lack of actual dialogue, so making him only caring about a larger scale makes him just completely impossible to empathize with

Bard is similar to Klaatu from the Day the Earth Stood Still.

He is not a friend to anyone specific on Runeterra; he is a friend to Runeterra and the things most precious on it.

It is not his job to save humans, yordles, etc. His job is to prevent the misuse of Runeterran relics.

He didn't intervene during the fall of Shurima or when the now Ruined King cause the isles to be consumed by the shadows of undeath. It wasn't a personal choice; it simply isn't part of his duty to solve problems created by the actions/inventions of the denizens.

He takes care of Runeterra and its' relics because they are unable to protect themselves. As far as Bard is concerned, everything else is secondary.

Taken from the Q&A, a rioter agreed that this sums up Bards character.

Looking deep into the character I get the feeling of a caring guardian, who's existence is too look after the ancient powers of this world (Maybe look after Nexuses? Nexi?). Yet I also get this contrasting, uncaring feeling, as if the mortal plane of existence is of no meaning to him except for the moments that history wants shaped. Did you design the deep personality of Bard to be this contrasting way? He is clearly no hero who saves mortals, yet looks after this world with a sort of delicacy.

May I get a Red source (quote) that describes Bard as incomprehensible? He is not incomprehensible to me. :|

Cosmic Egg?

This is named now?

Yes,Bard took that egg away, but you have to keep in mind how powerful that weapon was. If it wasn't for Bard, then it would have most certainly fallen into the hands of the noxians(since the old man was already down),just imagine what they could have done with something like that.

So yeah Bard probably could have saved the ionians here, but he still prevented an even greater catastrophe through his actions.

The thing cut a mountain in half, imagine if Noxus had gotten a hold of it and misused it. The destruction caused would be infinitely more devastating then what happened to that village. We dont know what that thing was or what it could do, what if the old man using it accidentally activated a self-destruction mode where it just explodes wiping out a fifth of the land? Then Bard did what he did because he didnt have the time to do anything else. You cant just look at it one way, you need to accept all point of views before coming to a conclusion.

To me it looked like Bard knew what the egg thing was capable of and decided it was much safer for all if he took it away.
