Fiora's Lore says 'a woman should dare call herself ruler of a noble House', so what about Vayne?

a woman should dare call herself ruler of a noble House

So, like... in Vayne 's presumably unretconned lore, she survives a massacre of her entire family and gains the Vayne family fortune to become Batman.

This happens when she was a child which is easily at least a decade ago.

How is it such a gossip topic that... gasps! another house has fallen into the clutches of a woman!? It seems to be if they couldn't deal with the fact that Vayne has been ruling House Vayne for the past few years, Demacia is kind of making a big deal over the misogyny thing too for Fiora .

I think they just look the other way for Vayne in regards to that for a couple reasons.

1: There is literally no other surviving family members of hers that could have taken the position. Fiora, meanwhile, had brothers. 2: She's pretty much a vigilante now. Her family was previously in the heart of Demacia's elite, but it might be safe to say it isn't anymore due to circumstances.

Shauna Vayne, of House Vayne, is missing and presumed dead. She has been Batman-ing as the Night Hunter, not actively being a noblewoman. House Vayne, from a political perspective, no longer exists and nobody has made the connection between Vayne and her noble birth. Her identity is not common knowledge.

I'd assume since Vayne was a child when it happened, there was probably some kind of steward or middleman involved to "help her", probably a distant family member or something, who was considered the real head of the house. Kind of a pre-revolutionary France thing where the real power with a child "leading" a noble house was with some high ranking advisor. Basically what I'm saying is that if Vayne is Batman she could totally have an Alfred.

All conjecture, of course, but I think the real thing Fiora is getting flak for is being the head of a noble house and actually DOING something about it (Vayne just kinda chose to get the hell out of Demacia, so why bother worrying about her in their eyes). It's Demacia, they've got a military culture, presumably widows are left all the time, and they're expected to just sit back and remarry or do nothing. Fiora's just standing up for herself and her family regardless of gender.

Honestly I think introducing the whole "Demacia has a sexism issue" thing was really kind of a weird decision? Because, like, the Prince's personal guard is a woman. The most talented Mage in the country is a woman. Either Jarvan IV is way more progressive than his forefathers or the country can't see what's so plainly in front of them.

In some part of Europe, during Middle Ages, it was possible for a woman to inherit if no other heir was available. But a woman would come last if any other heir, even younger than her, was alive.

If Demacia functions the same way, Vayne doesn't shock anybody because she's the last of her line. On the other hand, Fiora actively refused to obey her father (and evinced her brothers, I think?). That's another deal entirely, and it's much more disruptive of Demacia social customs.
