So what's up with Volibear?

Thousand-Pierced Bear? So is this what we are to expect of the next VGU for Volibear, or at least the canon world? Also, do his followers look like what Volibear looks like currently, or are we talking something more humanoid.

PLEASE tell me we get something about Volibear and his cult and how they tie to the Winter's Claw and everything. Very important to know (plus I run a D&D League campaign and I wanna make sure things are correct and I don't have to look back at it later like a dummy)
