I think the skins team missed the entire reason why people would get upset with 750 skins.

CHAMPION SELECTION

750 skins were never really BAD skins per say. They were often pretty nice skins with a really decent amount of effort put into them. Academy Ahri, Acolyte Lee Sin, BBQ Leona, Blade Mistress Morgana, Corsair Quinn, Debonair Ezreal, the list goes on.

These are all very nice skins that were very easily and widely accepted by the community when they came out.

The major defining factor between these skins, and skins like Dawnchaser Sejuani, Black Scourge Singed and El Rayo Volibear, is that the champions mentioned before HAVE OTHER OPTIONS.

I feel like one of the major gripes that came alongside 750 skins, is that towards the end they seemed to be majorly only given to champion who lacked higher quality options.

I don't think anyone would of had an issue with Dawnchaser Sejuani had her last skin NOT been 750 as well. I don't think anyone would of thought Black Scourged Singed felt incomplete if he had at least gotten a new cloud color, something only few of his old skins has seen. El Rayo Voli wouldn't of been as disappointing as it was, if he actually had a skin with all new SFX before this one was released.

The Worldbreaker skins, as beautiful and niche as they are, felt really unrealized. Trundle, Nautilus and Nasus have a pretty wide selection of skins, but they're majority pretty old. Heck the worldbreaker skins could have very easily all been made 975 with just 1 weeks more work on them.

Sure some champions naturally have very nice looking classic VFX, but that doesn't mean we don't want something different, especially for those champions where that is ALL we have.

From the way the Nexus post was worded, they seemed pretty intent on reeling back the amount of 750 skins that are going to be made, and that disappoints me a little bit. It would be nice to still receive these 750 skins, but maybe if they given to champions who already HAVE other options. I wouldn't mind if any of these champions saw a 750 skin once in a while. Instead of just constantly giving these skins onto champions who already feel shunted and uncared for.
