How come we are getting two marksman in a row?

We have senna, who is partly support, is an adc. Then we are getting a classified marksmen monk, probably lunari. This post is partly spured on by the fact that I want the fist to face brawler juggernaut to come out sooner, who I am hoping is a tiger Vastaya, but still, seems odd to have two marksman in a row.

It simply happens. The adc-lunari might not have started as an adc in development, but simply as a theme that they wanted to explore and that simply evolved into an adc.

Besides Senna is primarily supposed to be a support, not an adc.

Senna is a support who is partly an ADC. While she can be played as an ADC, that is not her intended role, and they will nerf her to stay a support if her ADC side gets too strong.

All that being said, Aphelios is likely the marksman after Senna, and it looks like they will in fact be a Lunari. As for why they are a marksman, I think its more to get a marksman who is actually intended to be played in a damage role again. Its been well over a year since we got Kai'Sa, after all, and Targon is lacking a marksman champion. Thus, Targon marksman right after Senna.

I wish they had put the Ionian Juggernaut first, just to space things out a little, but if they want to tie in Aphelios with Diana's rework, then I can see why they're doing them first.

Senna is indeed SUPPORT. She was teased as an Untraditional marksmen because her kit is Marksmen-like but it was made from a supporting point of view, and cause they wanted her and Lucian to be able to lane together. The champion after her is the real Marksmen.

Besides, champions of the same role have come out back to back in the past, if these were actually of the same role it shouldn't honestly be surprising. Lucian and Jinx for example are two Marksmen that were released back to back in 2013. Lucian in August (3.10) and Jinx in October (3.12), with 3.11 being a Skin patch. On top of that in 3.13 we had the Sivir update right after, so that's like having 3 Marksmen focused patches pretty close together.

Whatever Riot is working on just happens to be whatever they do. Most of the time they do try to keep them fairly different types between most releases, but sometimes these things happen.

So you're just going to ignore that we got like 3 mids this year. Champions releases don't follow a specific trend. Also marksman are the smallest class so this is a good thing in my opinion
