Today is the Vernal Equinox

Every year on the 20/21st of march the frostguard inspect the state of True Ice pillars. This is a mysterious task that offers more questions than answers. Today is the day where I would hope for an update from riot on the pillars state and pillars in other places(yes that was not the only site). https://i.imgur.com/Xs5HJwh.jpg[]

Each year, on the vernal equinox, a handful of frostguard from the Keepers Lodge descend into the Howling Abyss. The true nature of their task is perhaps known only to them… and Lissandra herself.

If we recap their last journey shortly... Sigvar, Halla Olar from the Keepers Lodge under the guidance of their frost-father Ralakka Split-Tongue descended into the abyss to inspect the true state of the pillars that thousands of years ago were made by the yeti. Olar was a veteran as he has descended multiple times already and Halla was a war veteran but Sigvar was new to this thing as he has been in some battles but never in the abyss. This last mission has cost Olar his life because the watchers tentacle was not sealed under True Ice or it somehow made it through to pillar and it infected Olar killing him and allowing a voidborn to spawn from his dead body. Halla inhibited the voidborn from spawning too fast by freezing Olars body. On their way up Halla fought the Voidborn as it caught up with them, she and Sigvar made it alive but her arm was severed. On the bridge Ralakka waited for them to return and as they did, they told him about the incident and he then rushed to Lissandra to tell her and prepare for what is coming.

That was a quick recap now here are the interesting bits. Lissandra knows that dead bodies allowed voidborn to spawn that's why she ordered no one be left behind. Olar actually had a few missions and had to carry bodies himself. Now it was sadly him who was carried up. Also there seems to have been some kind of a second try at escaping the imprisonment, either by the watchers or a voidspawn. All we know is that Liss probably had to intervene.

He knew the history of this bridge, of course. That which was trapped below had tried to escape its imprisonment long ago, long after the time of the Three.

Now I would love to get an update as this is perfect timing. I have some questions that could be answered.

  1. What's, except for checking the pillars, the other nature of the task?
  2. Does the talisman of Lissandra have special properties to it, is it infused with power? Can it reform True Ice?
  3. What in the world is Lissandra doing now with that information? We know that she has ,,Plans within plans"...
  4. Did anyone check other sites?

All the other sites… must be checked! The ice must be… reformed!

I would love for that to happen but I dont think it would be the right time for the Watchers to break free yet. That would be endgame stuff with them breaking free. That being said, finding out what state are the pillars rn (ay ay ay aaaayyyyyyy intelectuals will get this reference) would be interesting asf alongside knowing what exactly happened when the Watchers tried to escape. Also by other sites I think they meant Watchers are trapped in several places

Well that's exactly why I want to see what the state of these pillars is! I mean Halla somehow quick fixed the pillars but Id love to know if it was her or the talisman of lissandra... Yes it seems that theres more pillars in more places...
