Thoughts of Skins: Mordekaiser

Right, let's just jump to it!

Mord ever since his recent rework has felt amazing. From his new lore, his looks, gameplay, everything about him is great. He's this embodiment of a conquering lich, bounded in nothing but a living suit of war and destruction. And because of that, there are some pretty good concepts that people can think up.

His current skin lineup:

  • Dragon knight - He's basically a half dragon
  • Infernal - Fire boi
  • Pentakill - Iconic
  • Lord - Now part of Riftquest and somewhat Lovecraftian. I approve on both!
  • King of Clubs - Golden boi

And here are some of the concepts I came up with:

  • Space Conquerer - For those who played Heroes of the Storm and know of Leoric, think of his legendary skin. Both characters are somewhat similar and we already do have more and more champs coming into Odyssey so I don't see why we couldn't have him be this kind-of Space Marine/Darth Vader king.

  • Dark Star - Kind of similar but could also work. Passive could really resemble stars closing in on Mord, ult is in space of a dying star or something. This has potential.

  • Winter/Ice Golem(?) - A little fun skin for the holidays if he gets one someday. Passive is a snowstorm, E can be snow or ice claws, mace is like a giant ball of ice that he bashes people around in. Maybe take on a frozen giant look?

  • Candy Monster - Mace is like a giant lolipop but with spikes or candy corn on it, kind of spoiled cookie form I guess, W shield could be like frosting. I don't know, it could work but it just depends on how people react to that idea.

  • Blood moon - Maybe he's a bit of an oni. Has a really big Kanabo, maybe sort of a samurai get up (this could also work well for Trundle now that I think about it).

  • Risen - Kind of a mummy lord. Passive is sandstorm, E is somewhat ruins or a sandclaw. His whole body is partially a sarcophagus or just very Egyptian/Shuriman style armor.

I think they should design a skin around an idea they come up with for his ult... like I love the idea of it taking you into space and you're right next to a dying star.

Somebody mentioned Battle Boss Mordekaiser a couple of weeks ago, I think that could be really good. Fun but thematically appropriate, his ult could take you to a boss room.

It would be awesome if we saw a skin in which he is human. You know, like pre-void kassadin, young ryze and many others, which show the champions before they were affected by their fate.
