We should have a Noxian warmage champion (+ a Narrative Contest 2017 suggestion)

I would argue that one of the things that make Noxus so special is its attitude towards magic, even the dark arts. It amplifies the Noxus - Demacia contrast and allows us a speculative glimpse into a society shaped by different forces than our own. We know mages participate in public life and the military from various sources:

• We see mentions of the Arcane Fist, a Noxian warmage unit in Galio's lore

• Varus comic has mages in war parties

• Noxian mages are mentioned in the lores of LeBlanc, Alistar and probably quite a few others.

• Finally, I love the small glimpse Taliyah's lore provides into this part of Noxian life:

The land had raised Taliyah to be trusting, so she was unprepared for the smooth promises and practised smiles of Noxian dignitaries. Soon, the desert girl found herself on an unbending path, passing under the many Noxtoraa, the great iron gates that marked the Empire’s claim over a conquered land.

The crush of people and the layers of politics within the capital city were claustrophobic to a girl from the open desert. Taliyah was paraded through the tiers of Noxian magical society. Many took an interest in her power, its potential, but it was a fallen captain who swore to take her to a wild place across the sea.

Do you not wonder what would have happened if Taliyah had stayed in Noxus? Or, perhaps, what if Lux eventually finds Demacia unbearable and upon witnessing the Coming Darkness decides to side with the "enemy" (unlikely, I know)? I reckon a champion like that would provide a precious portrayal of one of the most intriguing factions on Runeterra, especially if they start out as an outsider. Not to mention all the themes and personal contradictions this character could have. Oh, and Noxus lacks both a control mage and an artillery mage (and a support for that matter).

Pinging Scathlocke because I can totally see someone like the character from my Riot 2017 contest story filling that niche. (It's the entry that won Narrative, and I think I'm finally done being overly emotional. In fact I really, really want to make that story the best it can be - I don't think I managed to express all the undertones of moral ambiguity and sexuality in 1000 words. I'd love to discuss/share my consecutive attempts at refining it. )

I think several years from when the story takes place, Lucy can be thematically interesting. A former aristocrat, but now worth only as much as her value to Noxus. A posterchild for Swain's Demacia-oriented propaganda (think Malala Yousafzai Valoran edition). Realising her newfound freedom, but also the new constraints, and the difficulties of navigating politics. Bouncing between inspiration for the Noxian ideals and disillusionment. Bursting with power but burdened by her issues (TM). In my headcanon she learns a few tricks, but eventually abandons the Craft to pursue a different sort of black magic, which eventually lands her a position in an elite warmage unit. Conceptually I think she can be the Noxian counterpart to Lux (we have Garen-Darius, Galio-Sion, Poppy-Kled, and I feel Riot would love to make a Lux-like champ especially after the awesome job they did with her lore and all the speculation it inspired).

What do you think? Should we be getting a glimpse into Noxian Magical Society fairly soon?

PS Swain's magic comes from a demon (rather than innately/from studying it) and he and doesn't seem very interested in discussing the arcane arts, so I think he's far from being Noxus' war wizard.
