Dear Riot,

Since I started playing this game about a year ago, Aatrox has been one of my favorite champions. His concept and lore is interesting and unique, his difference from other bruisers/divers set him apart in my eyes, and he perfectly fit my play style of aggression and careful trading.

However, now he seems to have no place in league. Often, I get flamed for even picking him. I've had people dodge after locking him in.

He has no niche, nothing that really makes him special from other bruisers. Anything he can do, someone else can do with more efficiency and reliability. Often, I've heard him referred to as a worse off version of Irelia.

His kit and gameplay doesn't seem to fit with his lore. The flying, frenzy inducing god of war has a bad knockup, an ability that looks like two strings in a v, and an attack speed buff for an ult.

Please, please highly consider doing an overhaul for him. A champion shouldn't be so out of date in gameplay and visuals that it is a rarity to even see one in game. His concept should match his kit, are there are a lot of cool ideas out there that fans have created.

He does need a desperate VGU. But then, so does Evelynn, who's power budget is mostly spent on a passive that is counterintuitive to her q, which is a dps tool, and her r, which is more of a diver tool, then the assassin her passive suggests she should be.

And Urgot, the person who does... things? No one knows.

And Galio Kayle Karthus Mordekaiser Akali ... You get the point. There are so many people in need of a VGU, that Aatox is just another drop in the bucket. So who knows when he will get his turn in the limelight(or blood bath, its' all the same to him)

his kit just is so weird, he need to be solidified, is he ad or ap? his kit flops both ways, he is a sustain fighter but has no ability to stop cc when he needs sustain to survive anything, and cc is too prevalent. Not to mention his passive, giving 30-55% AS when full bloodwell, you lose a fight, pop passive, and don't have that bonus AS, and hope to win a fight you lost with the bonus AS in the first place.... wut...

He would need a full VGU rather than just buffs. Because if you just buff him, he's basically a manaless Irelia with poke and AoE CC. And that's no good.

Visually and thematically I will admit that I have an irrational dislike for Aatrox. I absolutely can't stand his red and black 'totes not a demon, guys' design. The name 'Darkin' brings up bile. His whole ancient mysterious being who causes conflict thing is terrible. I can't help but feel like this guy is some thirteen year old's OC

Honestly, if his Justicar skin had been his base skin and he had been pitched as a being venerated by Demacia I would have totally bought it. But right now? He really doesn't serve any purpose in the game's story apart from giving Try his motivation after the totally uneeded rewrite.

They said that if they do a diver-class update,then he'd get one of the bigger kit-reworks(like Talon,Kata,Leblanc and Rengar in the upcoming assassin-update).

It is possible that the diver update will come out next year as it is one of the more needed ones(though Tanks and Supports also seem to be high on the list)

i know you like aatrox but theres no way of buffing him without turning him into a lifesteal tank yasuo broken champion. your best bet would be a rework
