Makes the SGs more human, and Ahri's attitude makes more sense now.

Also it is hinting Lux X Ezreal yaaay I find it funny yet fitting that Soraka had pretty much no lines, gave me a very real Sona vibe.

I like it, especially how they characterized Ezreal. He somehow seems more like Ezreal than the actual in-game Ezreal does. Also this Ez is maybe good enough to date Lux

Personally I feel it could have used more Poppy, but I do love how they worked her character in. Poppy seems to shine better when she's following a team.

Probably why canon Poppy is so lost alone.

I'm waiting to see if the Ez+ Lux relationship is gonna cause a rift in the two teams oooooooo I bet Ahri would be mad

Loved it. Very Magical Girl, I liked all the references to the game (ezreal and maps, MF and hating oranges) I only wish there was more.

Like another music video featuring the new guardians. Very excited for the skins tomorrow!!

Edit: I would have appreciated an explanation of why most Star Guardians are female. Is Ezreal an exception? Are most other Star Guardian teams more gender balanced? I'm just curious if there's a reason, because they easily could have made anyone else a star guardian but went for Ez.

I really, really enjoyed it a lot! I wish they'd had more illustrations, there were so many AMAZING scenes that really deserved to be illustrated. There could have been more Poppy and Soraka, but the interaction between Lux and Ahri is really nice. Ahri is probably the most interesting character of them all, it makes me so CURIOUS. What happened to her? Why is she so salty? (went 0/10/0 into hue hue) Are Lux and Ez going to date? Does Lulu have, like, some sort of prophetic powers? Jinx, Ahri and Lux all have so much room for development, and Jinx and Lux have so much room for relationship development.

This makes me sad this is probably all the lore we're ever going to get about this xD.

They very clearly side-lined Soraka so that people would forget her skin is the best and deserved the spotlight so much more then Ahri :^)

I meaaan some people were already quite angry when the ''starchild'' wasnt the one who was getting a legendary skin ( as a Soraka main, I was too first but I kinda understand why Riot gave it to Ahri ) but I was very disappointed when her role was small in the story.... I really hoped that Riot would have given her more attention, Lux didnt speak to her once in the story :/

As odd as it sounds I am interested to see who else they find as star guardians and want more information on who used to be guardians and how they fell/died. I would assume Syndra is who is referenced in Janna's story but I'm not 100% sure because they are both shown as Year 4 on their bios...

Adored it! Star guardian Janna is my favorite in the line (but soraka hits close second) and I was so amazed to see how much emphasis riot put on her experience compared to the rest of Lux's team. The pictures were gorgeous too, and really showcased their personalities well.

I would have like to see to have a connection with the Star Guardians. It makes sense since hes the star forger. Idk maybe he created the First Star or something.

Was Jinx's comment about having a towel a reference to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?

I liked the story. It sets up a nice 'before' situation with Lux the inexperienced leader trying to manage her chaotic teammates, which we will see grow and improve in later stories. I hope they do more along this line - I'd love to see them develop into a more close-knit group going forward, learning more about each other's past, this alternate Runeterra in which they live (especially a map!), and about this endless war the Star Guardians have been fighting. Lux seems to admire Ahri and her team now, but that may change as she learns more about them, and develops her own skills.

By the end, Lux and co. could be an effective fighting force, but still unique compared to Ahri's group. That thing with Poppy riding Jinx's missile could be foreshadowing their winning formula - success by outrageous creativity. This would be a contrast to Ahri's team's precision and discipline.

I'm especially curious about this Star Guardian that rejected her role. Some of the other commenters have mentioned the lack of an antagonist so far (simply fighting off Void monsters seems kind of weak storytelling - there should be some thing driving this, some face to give to their enemy). I guess this fallen Guardian will be the main enemy, if the story progresses.

not bad, its a shame riot really doesn't have the resources (or at least it doesn't make sense) to write stories that go beyond like chapter 1. like for this story they set up what could be an interesting story but then it ends

I have a theory that Ahri is the star guardian mentioned in Janna's story; the one that turned her back on destiny to do her own thing after her team died. Also, I have something else to contribute in that I believe Janna was originally apart of that first team Ahri had. It's the reason why Janna was so upset upon seeing Ahri. Another thing I'll add is that in the animation that Rito did with Ahri's transformation she's seen holding only 3 other broken stars, where we've seen thus far that the teams consist of 5. To further support this if you watch the Ahri voice lines in her interaction with Janna she mentions something along the lines of Janna keeping secrets and I believe that to further support this theory.

So after Ahri's original team, with the exception of Janna, was killed or had their starlight extinguished she sort of exiled herself leaving Janna behind. Janna might have seen this as a betrayal and it's why in her lore she considers herself the last Star guardian alive from her original team; Because she no longer considers Ahri one of them, as she does not believe in fate/destiny.

Then again, maybe I'm just wrong. Honestly, I think this would make for a better story though.

Next stop: the Dark Star and Cosmic Reavers.
