When I heard Ivern's name I thought it was very strange at first. I have never heard a word like that used in the english language. After processing the name something I found odd is that Ivern sounds similar to "Ivan". So next is the ending -ern. When I think of this ending I think of the word "fern" which is a flowerless plant. I'm assuming this is how Ivern's name was created. Enough about the name, let's look at something else I found strange.

From the summary of Ivern's lore I got from his champion spotlight It says that he was a cruel frejliordian that was disrespectful to nature when he cut down a magical tree it turned him into what he is now. There is no way there is a coincidence. A man named Ivan and titled "The Terrible" was the Tsar of Russia (which is a cold part of the earth) first crowned in 1547.

During his childhood on one of his birthdays, him and his friends were playing with fake guns pretending to play soldier but Ivan armed himself with a real gun and killed the kids at his party. Ivan was abusive when he got drunk. When his son was about to have a baby with a women, Ivan got angry and she miscarried her baby, because of hi son trying to protect his wife, Ivan killed him for trying to protect the women he loved. If I remember correctly he was even described as big and tall much like how Ivern's physique is.

Although, stuff as bad as this isn't in Ivern's lore, he is pretty much potrayed the same way to nature as in the lore as Ivan is to other people. These two are both described as despicable as well as both coming from cold parts of the world Ivern being from the Frelijord and Ivan being from Russia. These two have many similarities and there is no way it is a coincidence.
