What we Know

So, a long time ago, someone related to this guy Azir used the sun to turn a bunch of people into immortal giant animal things, like these guys Nasus Renekton , in order to fight the Void where these guys Chogath KogMaw Khazix came from. As it turns out, a hand full of animal men can't fight a literal dimension, so they lost and turned into these guys Aatrox. Then this chick Zoe comes out of no where and rips out their hearts and is all like, "let's put them in things," just so people could still use the giant animal magic, which turned out to be a bad idea.

So there's this circle thing that this broad is currently holding Sivir that turns into giant crosses. The circle thing can use moon magic to turn off the giant animal magic, long enough to rip out their heart. Then what's her face Zoe walks into a blacksmith with the circle thing and the heart of one of these things Aatrox. No idea how you put a heart in a circle, but there you go.

Then some golden warrior woman gathered up an army to capture at least 4 otherAatrox hearts and put them in 4 other weapons, being a swordAatrox , a bow Varus , a scytheKayn , and I don't know; a shield, a stick, maybe some chains... another shield? Who knows?

Then these chicksKayle Morgana are involved with the Darkin... to some degree. Maybe she Kayle is the golden warrior woman, maybe she Morgana has the other Darkin, or is the other Darkin. Can't say exactly.

Now you're asking, what can a Darkin do? Well, they can possess people's bodies. They can merge a couple of bodies into a better one. They can grow wings and horns. They are immortal. And they want to kill gods. All of them.

Oddly enough, a childZoe or a handful of furry things Teemo Tristana Poppy can still put a Darkin in the dirt, but maybe... just maybe, 5 Darkin can kill God. The world is weird like that.

One thing: Ascendants succeded in isolating the Void, they WON, but some of them were corrupted while fighting .

Also said moon magic is a ritual that rips ascendants of their prime power source: solar power. After that they will be trapped within their own weapons until they reach an external power source, or a host.

It is actually a smart idea. Since it means the invincible/unkillable Darkins can be locked up, and even if they break loose it would be temporary since they will drain their host of energy and would be dormant again.

Yea, I still view the new darkin lore as super lame. Everything is just Targon and Shurima now.

The process of Ascension was not created to 'fight the void', as it's mentioned the process was meant to be reserved for this at the end of life and an honour to those who have served Shurima in their life, it was also a dangerous process which could end in death or becoming something else.

If it was created to fight the void, Shurima would just chuck thousands of willing (and maybe unwilling) people through it to create an entire hoard of Ascended. In lore we know of about 20 total so far.

If they lost to the void, none of this would matter, if Void won, no Runeterra.

I'm not entirely sure any of how they stopped the remaining Darkin happened by 'taking their hear and putting it in a weapon'. I mean they killed like 6 with just the moonlight power in the story? Why not do that to the remaining ones? Sounds more like their very essence and being is trapped, not heart.
