Since the story of what happens to the darkin is probably going to be slow and can’t be really addressed since the champions are based on a certain point in time of the characters life, I was just hoping we could get some good splash art of what they looked like before their fall, After corruption, and if they returned to full power now.

Is the illustration by Christopher Shy on the Darkin page not exactly that? Them returning to full power, etc?
Well, I think all the pre Darkin art is going to come after the next Darkin is revealed. So it could be any time between the end of January and 2020, since all of the Darkin lore we got came entirely from last year.
And I know what people will say, "but that's when Kayle and Morgana's rework will be hitting the PBE, how could the next Darkin be revealed then?" Exactly.
All I want is more Darkin champions (or even just named, in-universe characters) so the apocalypse dream team of 
will be complete :D
