I think it is likely that regular humans will most of the time be contained in their own storylines.
When you watch a movie about a family drama or something like that,do you think to yourself "well this is pointless,since it won't affect the big wars out there"? Just because one story plays on a smaller scale than another one doesn't make it less interesting.
Also it can lead to interesting scenarios,where regular humans might have to deal with something that is outside of their league.

You in fact can because since 2014 the lore and the game are no longer connected! To clarify : the events that take place on summoners rift are** not cannon ** and can not be used for power scaling ! ( some champion abilites are not cannon as well ..
ultimate for example).
Also iam sure you know that characters like 
existed from the beginning of the game...yes we have more demi-god entities now but i dont thing their ratio has increased that much ...i mean in the last 10 releases we got 2 god like beings ( orhn and zoe ) .. the same goes for the 10 releases before them ( aurelion and bard)

Good question. One I, for sure, don't know how to answer. Now that you mention it maybe that's why she's so weak right now.
This is whats bothering me lately as well. does it matter if Garen and Darius , Demacia and nexon are at war when Zoe can turn both of them into goo with a snap of finger? the power creep is getting big and these beings aren't exactly mortals or age through time!
lately i cannot enjoy some of those smaller stories as i use to before. i don't feel excited about normal events anymore (exception of few champions) because we barely get any of those anyway! haven't even read most of Swain/Noxus update. im trying my best to see past these new ultimate sources of ancient power that appears with every lore update but its getting a bit chaotic.
