Who would win, Aatrox or Mordekaiser?

I've always wondered this as like an end of the world for runeterra kind of situation.

For Aatrox we have this hulking decaying blood driven warrior bent on killing e v e r y t h i n g. And never willing to stop until he achieves said goal.

For Mordekaiser we have a similar situation, but less personally fueled to say. He merely wants to gain power and grow the ending he was once promised but denied.

All out fight, (and for those of you that know a bit more of aatrox, he has recently gained enough mass to be about a foot taller and denser then mordekaiser) Death realm and aatrox res are on the table.

Detailed explanations / theories please!

This is a good question. Mordekaiser is the lord of death, commands the realm of the dead, but Aatrox is the strongest and most deadly Darkin we know of who has killed powerful beings and literally cleaved the metaphysical. I'm pretty sure corruption is off the table since Mordekaiser has no flesh to reap, so it's a question of how powerful can Aatrox become potentially. If he can kill omnipotent beings, can he kill one with dominion over death itself?

They're two of my favorite champs but if I had to pick, I'd give it to Mordekaiser. I feel with his complete mastery of necromancy he could potentially deliver true death to Aatrox, and turn what remains into his thrall to be used in Mitna Rachnun.

i like my boy Aatrox more, but I'd give this one to Mordekaiser. If Morde fights him off with his undead spirit army Aatrox would have nothing to feed off of to sustain himself, with ghosts not having flesh and bones and all. If that were the scenario the clash took place in Aatrox would get gradually worn down no matter how powerful he was and Morde would eventually claim him.

In a 1v1, I have no clue. We don't know how Aatrox's god killing abilities work since he's been able to completely erase the Aspect of War from existence by simply critically injuring its new host, so unless he can erase Morde the same way then there is little chance for him to win. Though most likely Mordekaiser would just be sent back to Mitna Rachnun (or he could maybe even retreat there by his own will before he 'dies') and just formulate a plan on how to kill Aatrox.

Mordekaiser seems to be the more likely winner here.

Walking corpse vs an Undead Necromancer? Throw this one to the guy who can control the dead, not just a soul trapped in a sword.

I picked Mord. Take into consideration the fact that the Darkin have to be strong of will first, before they can ever manifest their strength in their host. Willpower is exactly what Mordekaiser is based off of, he became a revenant after merely "refusing to fade". He just said "no", and walked right back into life TWICE. He's a hulking armor giant with no flesh, so a massive bsword could bash him around a bit, but Mord has no real life essence to feed off of, so most of Aatrox "anti-life" power is nullified by Morde's literal anti-life. I normally would retaliate to that with Aatrox being physically dead too, but his host, however, is not, and is made of twisted and reformed flesh and carapace.

Onto the confrontation itself, I can see Mordy being taken off guard a bit by such a powerful opponent, but he wouldn't falter, knowing he'd simply return with a better plan if he failed. So he would stand, and he would fight, and he would laugh and Aatrox clangs away at his armor, and does some damage, but only to dent metal. Mord would, presumably, either smash the hell out of the host and leave the sword forgotten once more, or he would take the sword and either: 1) Wield it and dominate Aatrox's mind similarly to Kayn/Varus(world ending scenario), or 2) Keep it in his dead kingdom of Mitna Rachnun. Regardless, Morde would, in my opinion, succeed because his very existence is cheating.

I guess that Aatrox would ""win"", since Mordekaiser can be "killed" but Aatrox cant.

But Mordekaiser would come back from the death after that, that is why i say "win"

Unstoppable Force vs an Unbreakable Wall. Both hopelessly immortal and both impossibly strong I feel like this is a recursive question.
