You are THIS close of making Tyrant Swain absolutely amazing

In the last PBE update Riot made Tyrant swain less blurry in his R form while also giving him piercing green eyes and more refined colours for this bird head and pauldrons.

But there's still two minor nitpicks that I feel would make the skin truly amazing.

  1. Adding some of the gold colour to his chestpiece Current Tyrant Swain looks very ornate in game while the new one's kinda....bland. Adding an extra trimming to it might make it look more imposing and less generic

  2. Making the Wings look more corporeal and less translucent In Tyrant Swain's new Splash art, the Wings look very...real. They're dark feathered and look really imposing whereas the one in game are see-through and don't really feel as intimidating. I'd suggest darkening them a bit and make the feathers stand out more, while also making the runes on them glow more

These two minor colour tweaks would make Tyrant Swain really live up to its expectations!

The translucent wings are for gameplay clarity, otherwise they would visually obstruct spells and champions

Hoping this gets seen before they lock the patch.

I agree, especially on the translucency of the wings. They are not threatening, even just compared to the other skins.

As a proud owner of Tyrant Swain, I absolutely agree on your wing point, I dont feel the gold trim on his chest piece is needed nor would it bother me. But there is one thing that I hate about the new skin. THE SHOULDER PADS! Current Tyrant swain has a very armoured upper torso with a nice helm and shoulder pads that go up to the top of his helmet and go down to his chest, giving them enough vertical size to be brought out more to the sides with an upward curve that give his feathers that look of being like a little set of wings. The new shoulders go as high but no where near as low, removing that heavy upper torso, making the shoulder pads stand out far less and making the feathers simply fall low like tassels to ruin the original wing like aesthetic. This is what has truly bothered me about the new Tyrant swain and I am surprised to be alone in talking about it, where his shoulder pads used to come down to his chest, they now seem like they arent even completely covering his shoulds but kind of floating. Now I know this wont change as it would require a slight remodeling and redrawing of the art, but I feel like mentioning it just as something I will miss.

I think they really failed with this skin. It's supposed to be 1350 RP so they added new recall animation and mixed up with his voice, yet left out all the details, all the new particles or new animations with walk or spells. Its insane. I mean yes, its nice to have new recall, but I am actually focusing on the skin when I am using it to do stuff in the game, not when I am B:ing. They should had given up all these side stuff, and focus on actually important parts, making the skin in itself look menacing (not just stretch Final Boss Veigar to 6ft. I mean holy hell that chest piece is ugly, there is 0 details anywhere to be found...) and make his ult transform into full demon bird since they obviously didn't want to do so for original skin.

On a side note, his 750 RP skin is now comparable to legendary skin, it looks hella amazing, its wings are fully corporeal and look amazing, and the northern design really fits with his general image!

Granted it isn't finished yet (at least I hope so) but it just feels like all the attention to detail from Tyrant was put on other skins. If the skin looks like this in release I will have to try to contact riot to get refund if possible.

I really think that it needs more detail , the old one makes you look to all of the different details and it was absolutely awesome , i still like the skin but the purple and the non gold chest is a big problem , and the wing must be more threatening , more scary , i really hope they change it not because it isnt good but because it can be so much better , as an old swain main and a new swain main i just want my favorite skin to have everything it dezerves , riot should not ignore the simple things we ask , after all we paid for it.

I think the wings are supposed to look real. One of the main complaints about the new swain is that he doesn't really transform, and Riot said it's for lore reasons (Swain is in control of the demon, so he doesn't let it out or something). But they do want to keep the transformation, so they decided to do it in Tyrant skin, where the lore doesn't matter as much. So basically he's supposed to actually transform in Tyrant skin.

I think the translucent look works on the wings. In the splash, they come off more solid but they always choose to show certain things off differently in splashes compared to in-game.

As of now though, I'd say it's too late to change them for 8.3 (seeing as they did reverts to some content and that means the cycle is pretty much over), so if they were to do any adjustments to the skin it'd be in a future patch.

A real shame since northern front has beautiful fully corporeal wings. I doubt there will be any change though. :(
