About Shen x Akali…

Yeah the age range is probably accurate. Hell I used to think that Akali was in her early twenties, but I'm very ready to assume she's nineteen given Shen's new lore.

I kinda like to imagine that Shen picked her up and trained her personally while she was young, after some kind of incident involving the Order of Shadows, but that's just me going in to fanfiction territory.

But back to the main point, yeah it's a tad odd to me given the age disparity for such a ship, but people can make it work, and if they're both consenting adults then who's to judge really. Personally though I don't think either Akali or Shen would have the time or desire to be in a relationship with anyone. Shen's got his role as the Eye of Twilight to consider and I've always seen Akali as not being very personable in such a way that she wouldn't care to really be close to anyone beyond Shen, but even then it'd be a master/student relationship, not a case of lovers.

I don't get it either. I'm not one to judge ships, but Shen talks to Akali like a father would to a moody teen during his story regarding Jhin.
