Though you know what this also means for the darkin?Their first mention is now technically in the original lore of Nasus,which was released back in 2009,as it mentions how some members of his race sought to dominate the common folk.
However, he was also part of a race of animalistic creatures that served as the rulers and protectors of the people. War was never more than a breath away, as others of his kind craved to enslave the people and claim totalitarian sovereignty.
Though I am aware that the concept of the darkin as fallen ascended was just recently created,but it is essentially based on this old lore piece.
