Wow....more changes. Darkin are ASCENDED now??

Seriously? Like.....people really think that's a valid change in lore? I don't care if I get down voted, but that retcon to lore that barely existed for a year that darkin are from another world beyond crazy to me.

Like why did the darkin lore have to become less and less individual and unique to general world enders/corrupted ascended? Why? There's really no explanation for that. Before all of this, the Darkin a some ancient race of runeterra that dwindle down to 5 remaining. And what's added to tha tiny piece of darkin lore down the road?

AaTrOx tHe WuRld Indurr. actUlLy ArE aScended. Trapped in weapons. Shurima. What happened to them being from another world??

I'm sorry but these recent lore changes are asinine to me. Making the Darkin shuriman just makes them even more less interesting than the "actually is from another world."

I guess I should be scared for what's going to happen with the next coming updates. So far, I as an individual, haven't been enjoying these out right changes to lore. Like even the fact that Pyke isn't just a ghost, but a person who was revived by a fish. A flipping FISH. I wonder what's next.

Darkin being "ascended" takes away so much from them.

Like i actually thought they had reason to be angry before, "we lost a war and our race got humiliated" was a much better reason for them to want revenge and slaughter.

I don't even understand Varus' motivation anymore, the darkin aren't truly brothers, they don't have any connection to each other than "we were teammates once"

Darkin coming from another world was more fresh, now it seems everything is either related to shurima, targons or the void.

On the grounds of uniqueness which is a focus here, I'd say in your example of Pyke that being revived by a fish is more unique than being a ghost, just saying though.

Don't forget to add "All powerful entities known as ascended, trapped in their own weapons by .... Zoe " ..... Zoe ? Really rito? Giving powerful characters the same enemy in the lore as in game? (Cuz Zoe is public enemy #1)

Lore change? The only lore we had for Darkin about their origin is that they are older than recorded history. That just means the Void and the Sun Disk are also older than recorded history.

Like, imagine if for years the readers never knew about the origin of Batman or Superman, people would think Batman is some kind of super genius and has some kind of super power for fighting and Superman is a god or an angel, and then later on we find out Batman is just some sad spoiled rich kid and Superman is just an alien. They mystery of a character is often times more fascinating than the truth.

Yeah I would have preferred it as well if the darkin had stayed as their own seperate group of beings.

Though I can understand why Riot changed the origin of the darkin,as they are now tied much more to world of runeterra and not random space invaders anymore.(and this also explains what happened to all those ascended,I mean an empire like shurima should have been able to amass quite a lot of ascended over the years and why none of them took control over shurima)

So overall I don't think this new lore is bad,its just not what I would have preferred to see.
