They've already destroyed it. The Bilgewater event is them putting up a new one together. Hopefully they'll keep building it, and even more hopefully it'll be at least just as good as the old one.
Wait until the Bilgewater event ends. It's the latest move they have, so it's only fair to see how it goes.
also, the lore on the client is not the full lore. The full lore is on the champion page of the site
