Relation between Sunborns and Iceborns (AphidMan)

That would make sense. Since the Void is described to be dark and pitch-black (this last part might be debatable though) it wouldn't really be a wild guess to suppose that the contrary of an Ascended being, (re) born by the light and heat, is a creature of cold and darkness (not evil though). -by AphidMan

Doesn't it make so much sense?

Sunborns are beings of heat and light, shaped by cosmic energy of the Universe, found by Aspects.

Iceborns on the other hand are beings of cold and darkness, shaped by dark energy of the Void, found by Watchers.

But neither of this 2 as whole are necessarily good nor evil. Ascended are beings of "light". Some may assume that they are benevolent (and tbh they are still closer to good side than dark side) but they have some big flaws like supporting slavery, having huge arrogance and conquering the innocent because they are powerful. Iceborns as far as we know though seeked for their freedom, which is kinda good thing, and it is even better when it is the watchers they have defeated. So even they may be beings of "darkness", they are not necessarily evil.

Aligment is entirely depending on the individual, and it is mostly their power that belongs to either light or darkness.

Enchanted humans that can even surpass their founders, it is cool, isn't it?

I'm not sure if there's a connection between the two yet, as we don't actually have any current lore about the Iceborn or the Watchers, nor do we have confirmation about their Void origin. I'd say that claiming the Iceborn are directly connected to the Void at this point is haphazard, given recent lore changes - and I'd also say that given that the Ascended are now Sunborn would imply that the Iceborn may possibly have some other kind of divine origination, like from Anivia, a demigod of the Freljord, and mistress of ice.

I love this theory basically Sunborn draws power from infinity while Iceborn draws power from oblivion. Infinity being the celestial body that the aspect draw power from and Oblivion being the Void that the watchers employ.

So, this keeps coming up and I remember reading all the Darkin stuff and I must have missed some huge part but when was it stated that Targons/Aspects were responsible for the Ascension process? They gave a weapon to Setaka but I remember nothing else.

Anywho, It's a nice theory, the comparison is to be expected and a good one. My only issue is the source of energy, the Sun makes sense, it's in Runeterra's world and is the source of all life (like our own right? just in that world magic exists). Void on the other hand is an opposite of life to Runeterras. It corrupts and devours life and energy, including magical. Using void energy to empower Runeterrans would make me think the results wouldn't be free thinking Iceborns who are just empowered humans but far far worse.
