Wolf and Lamb Teaser (What To Gather)

Meep Man·9/14/2015, 2:55:56 PM·12 votes·10,228 views

Wolf: Lamb, tell me a story! Lamb: There was once a pale man with dark hair who was very lonely. Wolf: Why was it lonely? Lamb: All things must meet this man. So, they shunned him. Wolf: Did he chase them all? Lamb: He took an axe and split himself in two. Wolf: So he would always have a friend? Lamb: So he would always have a friend.

Let us analyze this. Lamb and Wolf are two separate entities, confirmed. Now, lets get into it. A pale man with dark hair who was very lonely, all things must meet this man. This man, after some thinking, is obviously death. Death was lonely. He took an axe and split himself in two. Now what would death split itself into? Is this, actually, death? Or is this a being representing creation and decay? It split itself in two to represent two things: "Lamb", also known as... life. "Wolf", also known as... death. Life and Death will now never be lonely since they are now connected and are, as said, friends.

Some other things to note is Wolf refers to the man as it. This could mean two things:

  1. The man isn't actually a man.
  2. Wolf, or Death, sees men as something below him and refers to them as it, implying these are powerful beings reaching Bard and Xerath level of power. Lamb's calm voice also implies she is the older and more mature one of the two.

Think of Hel from the Game Smite And Nordic Folklore. Two beings in one and both together form the goddess of hell (and death indirectly). You have the Dark Hel who is unforgiving and punish, while you have the light that is carefree and take care of others even in hell. They are the judge, the punisher and the healer for souls.

If Lamb and wolf represent the 'Death' embodiement of League, they probably took a part of that lore for inspiration.

Lamb is the girl voice, as it is said at the beginning, while the other voice is wolf's

The man with black hair is 100% the original entity that splitted into them.

the axes may mean something.

next champ has a double personality or those identities are, indeed, surely kindred

death (and life) are 90% probably the theme behind that man/next champion. since these marks appear at the spawn fountain and after death.

shadow isles is 80% the place next champ comes from. 20% left they come from the divine grove like soraka and bard do.

I don't think its about death. It appears to be about an entity that was so lonely that he split himself in two. I don't think death is lonely, depending on the iteration of death you consider. Seeing as they were born of the same entity they will forever have a bond and will never be truly lonely. Now he couldn't just make a copy of himself, he couldn't give half of his happiness, half of his anger, half of any single emotion to each side. So I think the wolf and the lamb are representative of how he split himself up. The lamb being along the lines of calmness, peacefulness, and the like. The wolf containing the anger, ferocity, contempt, and so on. This is evidenced by the remark "did he chase them all?" But my interpretation doesn't end there. In the teaser the wolf seems mentally young and inexperienced.

"Tell me a story" "Why was it lonely"

He doesn't have the memories to know that this isn't just a story, but the way he came to be. Seeing as the wolf may contain all the rage and none of the peacefulness, the entity knew that having those memories would make the wolf uncontrollable and an absolute unchecked terror. So he left those memories and those experiences to the lamb. The one that will remain calm, composed, and peaceful about it's past. It doesn't seem that this was completely successful. The wolf seems to have lingering pieces of memory about being lonely. "Why was it lonely" instead of "why was HE lonely." He asks as if he means "why did it feel lonely before?" But seeing as they are split emotions, he doesn't understand just how being lonely would feel, just that the feeling once existed in his past.

I also think this entity has something to do with death, but not quite the way you're thinking. I feel like this entity is analogous of Charon, the ferryman of the dead in Greek mythology. It is not death itself.

"All things must meet this man, so they shunned him"

In regards to Greek mythology, the souls of all mortals must take take the ferry to the underworld. All souls must meet Charon. That would be one of the loneliest things anyone could ever do, and Charon would definitely be "shunned" by all. take souls from one place to another never to see the same soul twice.

Now in the case of this entity, since the mark appears randomly upon death, it could be related to the force responsible for bringing the champions soul from the battlefield back to the fountain, And playing into the player experience. no one goes "I want to stay in this limbo where I can't do anything." Everyone wants to re spawn. They want to leave this limbo between death and re spawn, eagerly awaiting to reappear in the fountain and leave whatever force (or entity) gets them there. Effectively "shunning" the entity responsible.

I also thought of a cool ult passive for a champion like in this theory. They can grab the sole of a single dead ally. And if they can get back to the fountain (recalling or walking) without dying, they re spawn their ally instantly. Large cooldown, obviously. It fits the theme of this theory

what if lamb was a boy and wolf was a girl

Lamb: All things must meet this man. So, they shunned him.

The above line in particular makes me think of the man as death. What else does everything have to inevitably come in contact with and avoid?

I'm pretty much right in there with your theory. The man is the unison of Lamb and Wolf. A lot of folklore references Lambs for life, christianity references lambs as a savior, and the most obvious being that Lamb is the lighter of the colors represented. Wolves are often though of as death, they hunt, kill etc. Wolf is the darker of the colors, making the obvious negative reference.

I would say that it's not much of a stretch to say that they're Bard level, as they're clearly sounding like celestial beings.

When was the last time we got two separate champs at the same time? Gragas and Pantheon I believe right? I know the riot of then is very far from the riot of today, and especially with how certainty close knit Lamb and Wolf (on top of the fact that Lamb and Wolf aren't names, and that the pale man who they undoubtedly originate from has a name speculating about ((research the files that involve the name "Kindred"))) just thought I'd remind everyone in this hour of speculation that Riot and they're creativity are not above throwing a curve ball at us.

Pale man with dark hair Lamb is the man and Wolf is the hair, which is why Lamb has a body and Wolf is a smoke trail following Lamb Lamb does not say that the pale man is lonely, Lamb says that the hair is lonely, which is why Wolf asks about "it" rather than "he" Wolf is not aware that he was the hair before The pale man "split himself in two with an axe" by cutting off his hair Wolf now has a friend Lamb now has a companion to help carry out his work

Well i'm pretty certain the "man" is death, and I'm fairly sure that he split himself into death and afterlife because thats what seems to be the most related to and connected with death.

Wouldn't it be cool if you played as both champions, switching back and forth until you get to a point where they fuse to make the "pale man with dark hair".

Sounds like this might be the first two-in-one champ (assuming quinn is excluded).

I wonder what role they'll play, or what their ult will be like in particular. Perhaps a temporary rejoining of halves? Death itself descends onto the battlefield?

In any case, if this is Death, I assume he will have interaction with karthus and maybe soraka.

I'm getting super excited about this reveal... I hope we don't have to wait TOO long to hear more.

one is a Heavenly Female voice (Maybe a Child aswell) and one is a Demonic male. Put that into consideration please!!

Actually I take back anything I said about them swapping from one or the other.

The fact that they talked to each other proves they exist at the same time. Hopefully.
