Although some people thought the Varus update was bad, I personally find Varus lore to be one of my favorites in the game. As We Fall perfectly represents the tragedy of Varus, Kai, and Val. Props to the people who worked on this!
The video itself was good, but it doesn't really feel like the original Varus anymore.

honestly, the lore update felt bizarre and does add up with him anymore, I liked his old lore as it still spoke of a tragedy, but also made more sense in regards with his current status with quotes.

The one and only thing I disliked about Varus LU was the community's reaction. Actually haunts me still recalling the splurge of shit that got thrown around back then. Stupid me had thought the SA&S community wouldn't let that shit slide, boy was I wrong. Had to take a break to get away from the overblown tantrums, there was just so many toxic threads and I was only reading them, not engaging.
I agree, I really liked it. I look forward to the next update on his story, and perhaps any VO updates.
what tragedy? the video was impressive i won't deny that but exactly why should i feel for these characters or even care about their relationship.
All they did was sit around as if they've been in love for 2 weeks and he finally met his boyfriend's mum, then they goofed and offered their bodies to varus.
Varus change is all glitter and no substance. Sure, we had a fancy looking comic+music video - but what about the character hims... themselves? We still know literally nothing about the two guys except their sexuality and the fact that they are in love; that's the definition of a token character. Lore update is supposed to expand on a character; Varus update did the opposite.
And then there is the Darkin himself. Initially was the most generic evil demon imaginable, perfectly rounding up the most half-assed lore update Riot ever did. He only got changed due to massive backlash, and now stands as the single somewhat bright point in the entire story.
I'm glad to see that some people enjoyed it. I personally enjoyed the creative side of it all most, ans the cynematics.

I'll say it before and I'll say it again, Varus old lore was good his new lore is better. That's because he actually has a story to work with now. Before, Varus' story was over he sacrificed everything to get revenge and he got his revenge. That's cool but that closes the book.
His new lore actually gives him purpose and internal conflict which was the core of his a original story.
The best thing about his lore update was the new splash art.
It was also an incomplete update because he didnt even get a visual + voice update.
I like what they did with Varus' lore in the Darkin update with Aatrox. Not Valmar and Kai in the modern day, Varus himself in Shurima actually has a semblance of his old lore and that's nice.
