Who is the ABSOLUTE STRONGEST League Champ in Lore? (RE:post)
This was a thread posted up back on the old Pre-2014 League Lore discussion board, and I thought I'd revive it once again amid all of the new Champion releases, all of the new work and design that's gone around the Lore. It was a very fun discussion back in the day to debate and argue over who was the strongest and where each and every champ fit in the rankings, now with all of the update content over the years, I've brought back the discussion/debate to answer the question, Who is the ABSOLUTE STRONGEST League Champ in Lore?
_[DISCLAIMER]: This is mostly an Opinion discussion/polling, also, please use decent etiquette when arguing or debating a champion placement. Current and most up to date Lore and Champion roster counts in discussion, Old Lore may have disputed validity in discussion, however anything from the JoJ, cinematics etc is accepted. _
[Thread comment discussion will be considered and analyzed, and the rankings will be periodically edited to reflect new placements, placement changes, or bracket changes based on what is debated, discussed and agreed on in the discussion in the threads comments]

Top Possible Candidates (The Wild Cards, unknown in exact Power or Capacity)
-
Hecarim -
(May have greater power or vast armies at disposal. Highly feared, mythical-like status figure in the Shadow Isle) -
Morderkaiser -
(May have greater power or vast armies at disposal. Said to be absolute ruler of the Shadow Isle, speculated Power is undisputed in the Shadow Isle but power limit unconfirmed) -
Karthus -
(Is an Undead Lich, technically immortal, and wields a devastatingly powerful capacity for dark Magic. Extent and limit of Magic ability is
uncertain. Has known magical song "Requiem" which rumored if sung all the way through will cause the end of Runeterra. This is unconfirmed still however and cannot be used in support of Karthus's power.) -
Veigar -
(Magical Ability extent and limit is unconfirmed. Unconfirmed whether mental instability dampens or amplifies magical ability. Unconfirmed as well as whether mental state affects Veigar himself negatively or not) -
Soraka -
(Unconfirmed extent and limit to magical ability. Soraka is the Starchild, so can be considered the physical avatar of some form of Cosmic God. Undetermined just how far her power stretches, nor just what she can do fully) -
Zilean -
(Magical ability extent and limit unconfirmed, has highly proficient ability in Time Magic, but to what limit it is uncertain. From what is understood, Ekko created a device which could employ time magic to turn back time with just a crank, suggesting consideration to how potent and relevant Time Magic ability is, still within bounds for Wild Card list) -
Malzahar -
(Void Magic ability and overall magic ability and extent unconfirmed, unclear as to how much of the Void he has absorbed, or how much has eaten away at the fabric of his being instead. Unclear how powerful Void Magic is, but rumored to be incredibly destructive. Still unclear how much of the Void power Malzahar directly controls, and vice versa) -
Vel'Koz -
(Magical ability and Void magical talent and potential extent and limit unconfirmed. Unconfirmed as to how much destructive power Vel'koz possibly has. Speculated to be able to wipe out entire armies due to highly volatile Void magic.) -
Galio -
(Exact Strength, Physical Capacity and Magical capacity unknown. As he is a living Gargoyle, a kind of Golem, possible to be Immortal and with limitless stamina and endurance. Unconfirmed as of now but contends for Wild Card position)
SPECIAL CASES (These may be disputed)
-
Jax -
// Certainly, according to Lore, Jax is regarded as the most powerful League champion in the entire League, a champ that has an unbroken winning streak on the Rift, and even had amassed such a winning streak that the Institute had to impose restrictions, a literal nerf on him. No other champion apart from Jax, has been known so far to have gone and received ACTUAL fighting restrictions from the Institute of War. And even that is said to have no affected his winning rate, and even with his own self imposed protest, of using a brass lamp post instead of going back to normal weapons after his restriction was lifted, he is still an undefeated grand master of arms. A lotta' speculation and supposed theories hint that Jax could be a High Grand summoner, one such theory that I've recently read up about is that Jax's potential identity is Grand Master Summoner Ashram, who was apparently a really insanely big figure in the Institute of war. In my personal opinion, I do believe that Jax, or eventually according to lore, Nasus, should hold top place of strongest League champ Lore wise. -
Annie -
// Everyone has been mentioning that Annie should be placed up somewhere around in the top tiers list with the likes of Xerath and Syndra, due to the fact that when she reaches adulthood her power is speculated to be able to rival even Syndra. No doubts that Annie is a very powerful champ, she is revered in Noxus, as being the child of two extremely powerful mages, and as being an extremely powerful magic user herself. One case argument I personally would put forth, even though she is pretty strong, she can't exactly rival the likes of Syndra. Syndra's home is Ionia, a place that is hailed infamously for their dabbling in the magical elements and for their immense magical and spiritual prowess. If there's anyone who knows magic and have studied greatly into the Arcane arts, it's the Ionians. Syndra, even at childhood, at that little age, as it's described in her lore, was kept under the closest strictest watch by Ionian grand Elders, fella's who you'd think can whip around magic like it's nothing. Even they feared Syndra and her destructive potential at childhood, she was trained by the most proficient and strongest magic user of Ionia at that time, and still killed her master, although I speculate that might've been accidental.
To mention a point that some one made in the comments, Syndra, keeps an Entire, Island, floating an insanely great height up in the air. Without even thinking about using her magic. Shes matches up quite powerfully in League matches, and even when slain on the Fields of Justice her Island is still a float. That point alone is a testament to her immense strength.
As for Annie's comparison to Xerath, again, by no means am I denigrating Annie's power potential. She is strong as a child, but even before his Ascension, Xerath spent his entire life in Shurima studying the Arcane arts and with an immense passion drove and strained himself further and further to achieve stronger and stronger magical power, to the point where he managed to STEAL, an Ascension ritual. These ceremonies are powerful events, not even a high ranking summoner would be able to botch one of these. He managed to completely steal one and undergo it himself, thus transforming him self into a giant ball of magical energy. When you think about it, Xerath is literally a giant walking mesh of pure arcane energy, held together by the binding seals.
Annie is most definitely strong for her to be feared among citizens in a place like Noxus, but then again, the citizens fear people like Darius or Sion even more than they do her. One of the greatest feared individuals of Noxus are Darius, Katarina, Sion, Swain and possibly LeBlanc, Annie is feared, but in terms of her influence in Noxus she's one the bottom rung. To what extent her power can reach is still being disputed and is by no way fully confirmed, which will leave her on the Wild Cards for right now. But this was to clear up the debate in the comments. Annie is strong, but as of now, she is no where near the top tiers list.
to be a powerful mage when he grows up as he can already blast away foes with a single, extremely powerful spell. Also, he's only getting stronger as he adventures through the Freljord with Willump, something I can't say for
The short story "For Demacia" involves Lux soundly defeating what the Runeterra map confirms to be Nocturne (#7 on the current list). It's a little ambiguous within the light-vs.-dark theme of the story, but it's arguable that it was only the fact that Lux uses light-based magic that allowed her to win. She might simply be more powerful, though.
