Lol, you have to admit Riot generally knows what they’re doing. Going in I was expecting a story revolving around mages and Demacian politics, as was the case however in ways that weren’t really expected.

The Arjen was likeable, and Cithria was ameliable... therefore I thought it’d come down to her, and possibly the rest of her troop, realizing mages aren’t bad... when the town set up that ambush, that thought became further established. But the plot twist that occurred, it wasn’t just the mother who was “rebelling”, but the entire town.... that does wonders to contribute to the divide within Demacia, while highlighting the ideals of Demacia itself.

We saw that the borderlands of Demacia were more likely to be sympathetic with mages, shown by Sylas’ first color story. “Turmoil” follows that up perfectly, settling the outcries of Demacia being misrepresented. A sort of civil war is the highlight of Demacia rn, and I eagerly await more.

The ending was anticlimatic TBH. The grieving mother didn't have the guts to go and kill the very guy who took her daughter away from her and the soldier girl gave her a promise she will never be able to keep. And somehow it's enough to make a person who lost everything just stop being mad? After a couple of word's from a state's servant dog?

The promise is far from impossible to keep, she knows where the girl is/general location (if she’s imprisoned which is the high likelihood). The promise was to find the girl, not necessarily to free the girl. The promise was to find the girl, not necessarily to free the girl. It’s not that she didn’t have the guts to kill the mageseeker, she was talked down (lol Talk-no- jutsu), but one that made sense moreso than many others I’ve seen.

But how is that supposed to make a mother lower her weapon? Even if she knows where is her daughter, she also knows she is not coming back and the fucker responsible for her imprisonment is standing here mumbling "The law is law". And another soldier is just rubbing salt in her wounds by saying "Your daughter needs you, you know" just to cover her own ass.

If anything, that kind of talk-no-jutsu was supposed to help mother realize that she can live with killing two government pawns instead of one and shoot them both.

Turmoil is more set up to display the fact that an entire town within Demacia is willing to accept mages and revolt under the current rules.

It's still quite mild and doesn't really show how close everything to blowing up. If someone got killed or the captain arrested the angry people for well being angry about Kyra in spire of Cithria's promise that no one's getting hurt, it would have put a bigger emphasis on the coming storm.

I liked that all the military tried their best not to hurt the citizens, this is a great plus for the story.

I also have to notice how they had to use again an overused clichet. It's nothing serious, it made perfect sense but once again it's the girl that is the morally higher figure while the man is all about "we should execute all mages on sight".

Again, the story showed something good even in a time of crisis, if they keep this up and try to clean Demacia of that overwhelming bias then it's going to be good.

Hell even the mageseeker seemed to have doubts about what was occurring (indiscriminate imprisonment of mages even if theyre benign), he displayed regret over the situation but did it cuz "the law". The civil unrest and attempted murder is cause enough to do an arrest, but this wasn't done, the display of magic being ignored willfully, helps further the thought that "maybe some justice will actually occur and the mages be freed"it's small things that build up.

I wouldn't count on them actually freeing the mages. And I didn't see Cadstone show any regret at all because Cithria's POV kinda took over everything.

Also, it's kinda strange reaction from all other people. They were ready to fight the guard for that girl - therefore, they were ready to go and face all the consequences - and then they just gave up even though they didn't know what happened to Kyra's mother. Maybe she was beaten into submission for all they know.

That's all well and fine.... if that were the type of story intended to happen, What u are suggesting is a completely different plot line that could (and actually already has been) developed within League lore multiple times.

I don't recall it happening within the League's lore, but I agree that it certainly has been done before. Which is why I'm not exactly a fan of the entire revolution route they decided to take with mages.
