This would be a cool lore event to progress Piltover and Zaun as well as other regions.

A new piece of technology is invented and skyrockets technological progress. Either Zaun becoming more powerful or Piltover developing something to widen the gap of power so much more. Either would be interesting.

Imagine Blitz, Ori maybe even Camille being visually upgraded with game play tweaks to match the technology upgrades. Or just release a new robotic champion to show off the technology. Then this would have broad implications to other regions, because the older technology would become cheaper and spread more, Demacia, Noxus, Bligewater? Maybe even resurrected Shurima. Fast forward a decade if League's still going and we could have an entire Runeterra booming with new technology, developing the story even more.

Vi just got a new bio, probably because Riot is cleaning some stuff up in anticipation of a Vi+Jinx type event based on some of the PROJECT voicelines

Unfortunately, we most likely won't get a new champion release from Piltover or Zaun this year. And an update to any champion from there is also probably not gonna happen.
