7/12 PBE Update

Previously when skarner's short story **Dreamsong **(if you haven't read it here it is: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/shurima/skarner) came out we read about the horrifying amalgamation of a Brackern lifestone and hextech weaponry. I seemed that a lifestone was used to augment hextech weaponry. I personally suspected that the truth was worse, that those lifestones are the primary source of hextech energy in Valoran and are likely harvested wherever they can be found.

In the newest PBE update various lines were added likely for use as loading screen quotes. Somerelated to gameplay, others to lore. One of them is the following: _"Hextech is the fusion of magic and technology, harnessing the power contained within extremely rare crystals." _ I think it is clear

that this is referring to the lifestones the Brackern use to survive. I also think that this will lead to some very interesting lore regarding the ethical and environmental impacts of hextech technology, especially for inventors like Jayce and Viktor. Does anyone else have thought about this?

Oh and if you thought they couldn't make Skarner's backstory more depressing, I think they just did.

I dont think that the brackern were arround all the world, they lived only in Shurima, in a continent that is not near Zaun or Piltover... So, using them as primary source wouldnt make sense if they have more sources of energy (and they do).

There might be several origins of that. Lifestones ofc are a major source of magic power but now we also know of World Runes and Arcane Crystals (Jayce hammer's core).

Lifestones seem to be used by the most salvaged form of hextech.
