This was already ruled out by the simple fact that Diana just got a new skin this patch. They would never give the same champ 2 skins in 2 patches directly after each other.
But I have to agree that Garen and Darius were a bad choice.... The first VS event already had a Noxian champion. Is it really too much to ask for to rotate between factions a bit more? And additionally, it's 2 top laners again.... Why, Riot, just why?
There are tons of iconic champion rivalries without having to double it with the last VS event by picking an Ionian or Noxian champion.

While as a leona main id love leo vs dia, garen and darius are THE rivalry in league lore.
Also.... Everyones missing Susan vs Croc
Garen and Darius are basically the poster children for league's 2 most important factions.
And how exactly is Darius vs Garen worse choice than Lucian vs Thresh? Or how any other two opposite champions would be better? There are tons of them in League (Zed vs Shen, Zed+Shen vs Jhin, Kayle vs Morgana, Nasus vs Renekton, Azir vs Xerath...) and they picked one of them which isn't better nor worse than any other.
Garen skins i'm all yes since his skin are meh, Darius not so much but oh well.
Kayle and Morgana are due for a VGU(they might even be the next one after Nunu),so they will most likely not get skins until then(and especially not legendary skins)
vs was lampshaded by the seasons intro cinematic, but it's probably best handled in a canon lore event.
Maybe with the reveal of Senna as a champion
All the champions you mentioned have better skins than these 2 so it is a justified move. JUSTICE !
