Thoughts of Skins: Kindred

It's been a while, I'm very late/off schedule, busy at work for the weekends and I kind of forgot to continue this (not to mention the constant thoughts of dread for my last year of college, future job/life and even my inevitable death bogging me down. It's been a rough few weeks, but, you know, typical college stuff). But I'm back here now so let's jump into it!

Kindred has always been an interesting topic of a champ. They're suppose to be a "duo" but most people I watch always refer to Lamb as just Kindred, even though it's Lamb and Wolf together. They're gameplay is good enough I guess but it is still lamb doing most of the work with Wolf tied to most of the other abilities and not doing much afterwards. Not to mention that they haven't had any other skins for quite some time since Super Galaxy, which to me was kind of....meh. They have some potential of neat skins so let's take a look at some ideas.

Anyways, here's their current list:

  • Shadowfire - Kind of a unique twist on Infernal but still the same regardless.
  • Super Galaxy - Self - explanatory. Like I said, kind of meh as Super Galaxy is about mechs and I don't really see that with Kindred.

Now here is a list of ideas that I could come up with/find around:

  • Elderwood - Number 1 Idea! I've seen a few concepts floating around and I do feel they fit in the series well as forest spirits/hunters. You could really get creative with the design from having them be trees or sentinals (like Hecarim), utilizing leaves, etc. There's a lot of potential in this and I would be very, VERY surprised if Riot doesn't make this skin.

  • Cosmic/Darkstar - Kind of a neat concept I think. Maybe not have it one way or the other but make it more like Lamb is Cosmic while Wolf is Darkstar. Could make for an interesting Legendary and duo pair to see how and why they're acting together.

  • Blood moon - Kind of demons who hunt others during that kind of event. Lamb being more dressed up while wolf is much more of an actual spirit/demon.

  • Reaper/Harrowing - Kind of a neat concept I want to throw out. Maybe make them actual grim reapers in this as they are suppose to be in League's world. Show them how they would be if they came from the Shadow Isles. Could be fun.

  • Red Riding Hood - Dumb concept but could work nice with say a April fools theme if they went with very cartoony/fairy tale skins.

  • Reverse - Have Lamb and Wolf switch, like Lamb now looks more wolf like and Wolf be more...idk what he would look like actually. Huh. Well, it's still possible...maybe?

Anyways, those are my ideas. If you like some of them, which ones? If you have ideas of your own, what are they? Discuss them down below as for next time (which I loosely promise to keep on Friday) we will talk over (drumroll)....Katarina! Sure why not? Katarina next time everyone.

While Kindred as a thematic is a champ I personally would love to see skins for, and champs with fewer skins is an important topic, for future reference's sake, skin ideas belong in Concepts & Creations, not Story Art & Sound. Specifically this post is a concept discussion, whereas SA&S is dedicated to discussion on official content and the feedback thereof.

PS: I actually sketched a Dark Star Kindred for fun, I love the idea of it! Specifically I drew Lamb as a priest like concept with Wolf as like her medium. Inspired by Rhaast's relationship with Kayn in Oddysey.

Theatrical Kindred Lamb is clearly an actor while wolf looks like he's puppeted by strings or one of those large lion costumes that was shrunk down or something. It could fit really well for her lore at would be kinda interesting as well as probably being a lower cost skin which we have only gotten 6 skins under 1350 in the past 2 years which is kinda crazy.

Kindred Greenarrow DnD themed skin where she's a druid and wolf is her spirit animal They already have that whole dnd universe set up and it would be kinda funny to see what supposed Lamb would look like because they could do a comic where they show they players who play stuff like Varus Swiftbolt and whatnot.

Coven Kindred A witch themed skin where Wolf is her familiar

Pool Party Kindred Wolf is now a Dolphin and called Dol and makes the dolphin noise that makes Kindred giggle a bit when you use cntl+4 Also maybe give Lamb the full snorkle gear as a clever way to cover her face because you're not supposed to see it or whatever.

Dragon Slayer Kindred She fucking melts them like nobody's business.

Also I totally didn't have to go back and change kindred into lamb when I was talking about lamb. Shhhhh

tbh i think a new kindred skin should be introduced with a new/unique skin line instead of the concepts listed above. they don't really scream kindred. i like elderwood and red riding kindred, but everything else is kind of.. bland. kindred deserves so much more

Yeah we really need Elderwood Kindred. Making them actual grim reapers sounds cool too, but not for their next skin. I don't want them getting a legacy skin after going so long without one.
