The blanket statement that all old lore is still cannon unless specified otherwise isn't working. It leaves way too much open to interpretation.
As much as I hate the thought of it, if RIot's going to Retcon its lore, it should be a hard retcon if things are going to make any sense.
The new lore shouldn't be propped up by the original lore it's ignoring.
The statement is all lore that doesn't have to do with the IoW is still canon -- so things like Yasuo's origin story, Lux's background in the Demacian military, Darius killing the cowardly general, all those things are still, as far as we know, completely accurate.
The only things that are no longer correct are things with close ties to the IoW (Fiddlesticks, Nocturne) or things contradicted by new lore release (can't think of an example here)
Just post the things you have questions about. Your questions will be answered in less than 30 minutes guaranteed. It's not "canon unless stated", it's "canon unless it contains the IoW".
