Who is the Absolute strongest League champ (Lore Wise) RE-post
This was a thread back before on the old League lore discussion board, and I thought I'd revive it after a good looking through of all the champions posted and previewed in a summoners created list of the top most powerful League champs based upon lore.
Keep in Mind, based solely on Lore
One more Keep in Mind, the lore used is the old lore, since the old lore is and was the one with the most content, and has really good consistency, the JoJ is also up for use in discerning Champ power rankings, the new lore is completely Retconned and chopped down, and thus, I will discredit it
Top Voted Candidate: Nasus.
Top Ranking List (Edited)
1 - EDIT: Bard/Kindred (According to the comments below)
2 - EDIT: Xerath/Syndra(According to the comments below)
3 - Cho'Gath
4 - Malphite(According to comments below)
5 - Anivia
6 - Fiddlesticks
EDIT: According to the comments below, Malphite has been put up into fourth place, and a new place was put down for Fiddlesticks. The comments are actively analyzed and are taken into consideration for champ placement.
Possible Candidates (The Wild Cards, Unknown in power):
Hecarim (May or may not have greater power or vast armies at disposal)
Mordekaiser (May or may not have greater power or vast armies at disposal)
Karthus (He is a Lich, an undead, sorta' Immortal, if the song Requiem, is sung all the way to the end, could potentially end the world)
EDIT: One of the comments mentioned that there's really no clear or concise proof that his song, Requiem, has world ending capability, so that's being discredited, he's still a wild card.
EDIT: Veigar, Soraka, and Zilean have been added to the wild cards list. Zilean and Soraka are still considered a little disputed, as they do have immense power, but it's not power that could possibly shake the very fabric of Runeterra, like Cho'Gath or Xerath. They do have a ton of power, and Soraka being the Star Child, she can practically be considered a God. Zilean can alter and shift time. But the scale of which Soraka's powers go is unknown yet, and the capacity to Zilean's time altering magic is also up for questioning, since Ekko managed to make a portable, mechanical device that transports him back through time with the crank of a switch, so who knows just how relevant Time magic can be. They are powerful in their own respective right, but they're not really Universe moving, such as Bard, and not really on planet shattering power scales such as Gho'Gath or Xerath.
EDIT: Malzahar has been added to the Wild Cards list. True power and capacity still unknown, and it's unknown just how much of the Void he has absorbed and how much uses him as a conduit, just how powerful the Void is, and just how much of that power he can directly channel and control instead of vice versa.
EDIT: Annie has been added to the Wild Cards list, due to many comments mentioning that her true potential once she reaches adulthood would be unknown, and she is very heavily revered in Noxus as an extremely dangerous and powerful Mage.
EDIT: LeBlanc added to Wild Cards, same case as Annie, no idea how powerful she exactly is.
Special case, Annie (This may be disputed)
Everyone has been mentioning that Annie should be placed up somewhere around in the top tiers list with the likes of Xerath and Syndra, due to the fact that when she reaches adulthood her power is speculated to be able to rival even Syndra. No doubts that Annie is a very powerful champ, she is revered in Noxus, as being the child of two extremely powerful mages, and as being an extremely powerful magic user herself. One case argument I personally would put forth, even though she is pretty strong, she can't exactly rival the likes of Syndra. Syndra's home is Ionia, a place that is hailed infamously for their dabbling in the magical elements and for their immense magical and spiritual prowess. If there's anyone who knows magic and have studied greatly into the Arcane arts, it's the Ionians. Syndra, even at childhood, at that little age, as it's described in her lore, was kept under the closest strictest watch by Ionian grand Elders, fella's who you'd think can whip around magic like it's nothing. Even they feared Syndra and her destructive potential at childhood, she was trained by the most proficient and strongest magic user of Ionia at that time, and still killed her master, although I speculate that might've been accidental. To mention a point that some one made in the comments, Syndra, keeps an Entire, Island, floating an insanely great height up in the air. Without even thinking about using her magic. Shes matches up quite powerfully in League matches, and even when slain on the Fields of Justice her Island is still a float. That point alone is a testament to her immense strength. As for Annie's comparison to Xerath, again, by no means am I denigrating Annie's power potential. She is strong as a child, but even before his Ascension, Xerath spent his entire life in Shurima studying the Arcane arts and with an immense passion drove and strained himself further and further to achieve stronger and stronger magical power, to the point where he managed to STEAL, an Ascension ritual. These ceremonies are powerful events, not even a high ranking summoner would be able to botch one of these. He managed to completely steal one and undergo it himself, thus transforming him self into a giant ball of magical energy. When you think about it, Xerath is literally a giant walking mesh of pure arcane energy, held together by the binding seals.
Annie is most definitely strong for her to be feared among citizens in a place like Noxus, but then again, the citizens fear people like Darius or Sion even more than they do her. One of the greatest feared individuals of Noxus are Darius, Katarina, Sion, Swain and possibly LeBlanc, Annie is feared, but in terms of her influence in Noxus she's one the bottom rung. To what extent her power can reach is still being disputed and is by no way fully confirmed, which will leave her on the Wild Cards for right now. But this was to clear up the debate in the comments. Annie is strong, but as of now, she is no where near the top tiers list.
Special case, Jax. (This may be disputed)
Certainly, according to Lore, Jax is regarded as the most powerful League champion in the entire League, a champ that has an unbroken winning streak on the Rift, and even had amassed such a winning streak that the Institute had to impose restrictions, a literal nerf on him. No other champion apart from Jax, has been known so far to have gone and received ACTUAL fighting restrictions from the Institute of War. And even that is said to have no affected his winning rate, and even with his own self imposed protest, of using a brass lamp post instead of going back to normal weapons after his restriction was lifted, he is still an undefeated grand master of arms. A lotta' speculation and supposed theories hint that Jax could be a High Grand summoner, one such theory that I've recently read up about is that Jax's potential identity is Grand Master Summoner Ashram, who was apparently a really insanely big figure in the Institute of war. In my personal opinion, I do believe that Jax, or eventually according to lore, Nasus, should hold top place of strongest League champ Lore wise.
Possible counter arguments to Jax being the strongest according to what's written in Lore:
The most common counter argument to not jut Jax, but also Master Yi being top candidates as strong League champs, but especially on Jax, is that, both of them do possess a great amount of physical strength and weapon proficiency, they do not posses magic capabilities and thus are automatically discounted. I mean I understand, but that's a bit of too quick-to-conclusion, black and white answer to it. The champs in the Institute aren't all giant, abnormal, magic wielding monsters or non-humans, but manage to match up to any other similar champ just fine. A champ shouldn't really be discounted based on their ability or inability to use magic, since, if we should go on the fact that Jax can be discounted because he can't use magic, we should then also discount Veigar or Xerath, since we don't really know if they're stable enough, physically and mentally to be credited in the top categories
Another possible counter argument to this, is one that I've seen tossed around a whole bunch. "Jax is only undefeated and really powerful because all other giant, magic or super power wielding Champs are restricted, and because he's such a proficient fighter, he can capitalize on this, especially since it's mentioned that he's a Mercenary. Combat prowess would urge him to take advantage of enemy weaknesses" This one is kinda' strange, no where, really, or maybe I'm missing it. But I really haven't seen it in lore where it's exactly said that any of the champs are restricted in terms of their power. It is inherently assumed that there are some, very very basic and practically non-mentionable limitations, but not exactly to power, just to keep it so that normal League matches can proceed, but these limiters would only assumed to be used on the volatile and deranged champs such as Brand, Fiddlesticks, or Nocturne. And even then, the most likely case would just be mind inhibitors to keep them docile but combat aware, to keep them from freaking out, not really power limited. There's no mention that during league matches any champ has their power restricted or limited, only that they are kept directed, revived, and teleported back to base by their summoner. Which again, no power limitation implied.
Same etiquette, if you disagree with anything on the list or any champs and their relative power position, Please place a logical and rational argument. Thanks.
Protector of the entire universe, travels between dimensions, yada yada yada, yeah. If he wasn't up here he'd have been replaced in his job long ago.
Death itself. You don't get much more absolute than that.
Unbound he'd have access to immense magic beyond the scope of mortal comprehension, bound he is still comparable to the other Ascended, who are already god-like when compared to humans
Was essentially a god before her fall and still has immense power capable of healing fatal wounds and calling upon the stars even as a mortal.
A living mountain, he'd have the strength to shape Runeterra itself. I sorta imagine him as comparable to the Hekatonkhiers of greek mythology, who had such strength that they threw mountains at the titans in the Titanomachy.
: Effortlessly keeps an entire Ionian temple afloat. She doesn't even think about it. (Game-wise, the temple still floats even when she is dead. Let that sink in). Her magical power is vast, and is unrestrained.
: Never stops growing. His size is Malphite-level splash art-wise, and it's implied that he grows stronger as his size increases.
: Knowledge is power. He never stops learning, thus, his power never stops growing. Also capable of channeling a beam of what is basically plasma to cause absolute disintegration (Helmet Bro, never forget).
: He controls the Black Mist during the Harrowing, and pretty much rules the Shadow Isles with an iron fist. cough
: He influences history through war simply by appearing in the midst of a battle; he's basically an avatar of massacre when he fights.
: Ascended emperor of Shurima. He summons soldiers from sand, his kingdom is in the middle of the desert - he could basically turn the entire desert into an army if he wanted to.
*How can you not have someone on here who cant be beaten?
because no one knows her power as a grown up
Unlimited power
Very high Power, but limited by body
